«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Սուզանավում ծառայելը պարզապես աշխատանք չէ, այլ մարմնի, մտքի և ոգու ուժի փորձություն: Նավաստիները, ովքեր շաբաթներ շարունակ ջրի տակ են, բախվում են հատուկ ֆիզիկական և հոգեբանական-հուզական սթրեսի: Այդ առանձնահատուկ պայմանները հրամանատարությանը ստիպում են մեծ ուշադրություն դարձնել անձնակազմի սննդակարգին: Քչերը գիտեն սուզանավի անձնակազմի սննդակարգի շատ հետաքրքիր մի բաղադրիչի՝ ալկոհոլով թաթախված հացի մասին:

Հարկ է անմիջապես նշել, որ խոսքը հատուկ նավաստիների համար հորինված ինչ-որ էկզոտիկ բանի մասին չէ: Փչանալուց պաշտպանված հաց օգտագործվում է նաև այլ ռազմական կառույցներում, սակայն ստորջրյա սուզման պայմաններում առավել նկատելի է դառնում դրա կարևորությունը։ Սովորական հացը արագ փչանում է, առավել ևս՝ սուզանավի սահմանափակ տարածքում, որտեղ խոնավությունը սովորականից շատ ավելի բարձր է: Այնտեղ դժվար է ստեղծել հացի երկարաժամկետ պահպանման համար բարենպաստ պայմաններ, բացի դա՝ անհնար է թարմ հաց թխել։ Բայց մարդու համար հացի նշանակությունը դժվար է գերագնահատել։ Արտաքին աշխարհից մեկուսացված սուզանավերի համար կարևոր է ոչ միայն հարուստ, այլ նաև հավասարակշռված և հարմարեցված սննդակարգը , բայց խնդիրն այն է, որ մոտակա հացաբուլկեղենից անհնար է տաք հաց հասցնել սուզանավ։ Նման պայմաններում պետք է հույս դնել միայն այն բանի վրա, ինչը նախապես պահեստավորված է: Եվ հենց այստեղ էլ հայտնվում է ալկոհոլով մշակված հացի գաղափարը:

Նախկինում այն փակվում էր թիթեղյա տարաների մեջ, իսկ այսօր այն ավելի հաճախ փաթեթավորվում է փակ պլաստիկով: Նման մեթոդը թույլ է տալիս հացը պահպանել ամիսներով կամ նույնիսկ տարիներով և նույնիսկ այնպիսի միջավայրում, որտեղ բորբոսն ու խոնավությունը կործանարար են սովորական հացի համար:

Հետաքրքիր է, որ նման հացը օգտագործվում է ոչ միայն սուզանավերում, այլ նաև ամբողջ բանակում, դա պահպանվում է արտակարգ իրավիճակների դեպքում, երբ սովորական մատակարարման շղթաներն ընդհատվում են։ Պատերազմի, բնական աղետների կամ մատակարարման խափանումների ժամանակ դա իսկական փրկություն է։ Բնականաբար, նման հացի համը, մեղմ ասած, սպեցիֆիկ է։ Նրանք, ովքեր դա փորձել են, միաձայն նշում են, որ հաճույքը չափազանց քիչ է։ Այնուամենայնիվ, դատարկ ստամոքսի պայմաններում համը հետին պլան է մղվում: Բացի այդ, ոչ ոք այն միանգամից չի ուտում։ Նման հացը սեղանին մատուցելուց առաջ խոհարարները այն միշտ ենթարկում են ջերմային մշակման։

Սպիրտայնացված հաց ստանալը բարդ գործընթաց չէ, բայց խնամք է պահանջում։ Նախ՝ թարմ հացը դեռ տաք վիճակում ընկղմվում է 96 տոկոս էթիլային սպիրտի մեջ, պահվում հինգից վեց ժամ, որից հետո փաթեթավորվում է։ Երբ գալիս է այն ուտելու ժամանակը, հացը հանում են, կտրատում, ջուր են լցնում և տաքացնում, ալկոհոլը գոլորշիանալուց հետո այն դառնում է ուտելի։ Ճիշտ է, ալկոհոլի թեթև համը մնում է, այնուամենայնիվ դա թույլ է տալիս անձնակազմին հաց ստանալ ամենաանբարենպաստ պայմաններում։
