2010 թվականին կատարված մի շարք հետազոտությունների արդյունքում պարզվել է, որ ոտքերը խաչված դիրքում նստելու արդյունքում բարձրանում է արյան ճնշումը։ Եթե անգամ խնդիր չունեք ճնշման հետ, այս դիրքում նստելը կարող է հանգեցնել առողջական վիճակի վատթարացմանը։ Այս ամենի առաջին պատճառը մի ծունկը մյուսի վրա դնելն է, ինչի արդյունքում սիրտը ստիպված է լինում ավելի մեծ արագությամբ արյուն մղել՝ օրգանիզմի բնականոն կենսագործունեությունը պահպանելու համար։
Այս դիրքում երկար նստելը ազդում է նաև հոդերի վրա և առաջացնում է հոդերի տեղաշարժման մեծ վտանգ։ Բացի այդ՝ ոտքերը խաչած նստելը կարող է հանգեցնել «սարդոստայն»-ի առաջացմանը Ձեր ոտքերի վրա, քանի որ այս դիրքում ավելանում է ճնշումը՝ մազանոթների և երակների մեջ։
Եվ վերջում, ոտքերը խաչած դիրքում օրական 3 ժամից ավել նստելու հետևանքով Ձեզ մոտ կարող է խախտվել կեցվածքը, ինչպես նաև առաջանալ մեջքի ստորին հատվածի և պարանոցի ցավեր։
