Մարդիկ, ովքեր հավատում են, որ ֆիզիկական վարժությունները օգտակար են իրենց համար, ավելի շատ մտավոր և ֆիզիկական օգուտ են ստանում վարժություններից, քան նրանք, ովքեր քիչ սպասումներ ունեն այդ ամենից:
Գերամանիայի հետազոտողները պարզել են, որ մարդիկ, ովքեր համոզված են, որ հեծանվավարությունն օգտակար է, ավելի հաճույքով էին վարում հեծանիվը և ավելի հանգիստ էին, քան նրանք, ովքեր վատ էին տրամադրված:
Ֆրայբուրգի համալսարանի հոգեբանները հանձնարարել են 18-ից 32 տարեկան 76 մարդու 30 րոպե մարզասրահի հեծանիվ վարել: Նրանք նախօրոք հարցրել էին այդ մարդկանց, թե իրենց կարծիքով ինչ օգուտ կստանան նրանք այդ վարժությունն անելուց հետո: Հետազոտողները նաև էլեկտրոէնցեֆալոգրամով ուսումնասիրեցին մասնակիցների ուղեղի ակտիվությունը:
Հետազտության այն մասնակիցները, ովքեր սկսել էին հեծանվավարությունը դրանից դրական արդյունքի սպասելիքով, ավելի հաճույքով էին կատարել այդ վարժությունները, ավելի բարձր տրամադրություն ունեին և ավելի քիչ էին ընկճված, քան ավելի քիչ լավատես մասնակիցները:
Էլեկտրոէնցեֆալոգրամը նաև ցույց տվեց, որ այն մասնակիցներն, ովքեր ավելի շատ սպասելիքներ ունեին, մինչև ուսումնասիրության սկիզբը ավելի հանգիստ էին:
Սակայն վատատեսների համար ամեն ինչ կորած չէ. հետազոտությունը ցույց տվեց, որ ամեն ինչ չէ, որ կախված է մարդու տրամադրվածությունից:
Որոշ մասնակիցների հետազոտությունից առաջ ցույց տվեցին կարճատև ֆիլմեր, որտեղ խոսվում էր հեծանվավարության դրական կողմերի մասին: Այդ մասնակիցները նույն օգուտը ստացան հեծանվավարությունից, ինչը որ ստացել էին նախապես դրական տրամադրված մարդիկ:
«Արդյունքները ցույց են տալիս, որ մեր հավատը առ այն, թե ինչքան օգուտ ենք մենք ստանալու ֆիզիկական ակտիվությունից, զգալի ազդեցություն ունի մեր բարեկեցության վրա,» - ասում է ավագ հետազոտող Հենդրիկ Մոթեսը:
Մոթեսը նաև հավելում է, որ արդյունքները հավանաբար վերաբերում են նաև այլ սպորտի տեսակների, ինչպես օրինակ վազքին, լողին և այլն:
