Մաստակը այնպիսի բան է, որը օգտագործում են և մեծերը և  փոքրերը: Այն օգնում է սննդի օգտագործումից հետո երկարատև թարմացնել մարդու շնչառությունը, որով էլ և պայմանավորված է վերջինիս այդքան հայտնի լինելը: Մաստակի օգտակարության վերաբերյալ բժիշկների կարծիքները տարբեր են:

Ինչից է բաղկացած մաստակը

Այս ապրանքի թերությունը հենց վերջինիս բաղադրության մեջ է: Այն բաղկացած է բաղադրիչներից, որոնք, որպես կանոն,  ստեղծվում են սինթետիկ  նյութերից:

Մաստակի հիմքում ընկած է լատեքսը, որը պետք է բնական ծագում ունենա: Ընդհանուր առմաբ լատեքսը համարվում է անվտանգ նյութ, չնայած որ վերջինիս վերաբերյալ խորը հետազոտություններ չեն իրականացվել:

Ինչպես օգտվել մաստակից

Եթե դուք կանոնավոր կերպով մաստակ եք ծամում, ապա վերջինիս օգտագործումը նաև կարող է օգտակար լինել : Քանի որ այն՝

• Թարմացնում է շնչառույունը
Մաստակը ապահովում է միայն  թարմ շմչառություն: Այն որ նշում են, թե մաստակը մաքրում է բերանի խոռոչն ու ատամները` ճիշտ չէ: Ատամների արանքում կուտակված սննդի հետքերն ու ատամնափառը մաստակի օգնությամբ  չի կարելի մաքրել:

• Մաստակը ամրացնում է լնդերը
Դա ճշմարտություն է, սակայն դրական արդյունքի հասնելու համար հարկավոր է հավասարաչափ ծամել 2 կողերով: Իսկ եթե մաստակը ծամեք միայն մեկ կողմով, ապա կարող է առաջանալ դեմքի անհամաչափության խնդիր:

• Պահպանում է թթվա-հիմնային բալանսը

Այս հարցի վերաբերյալ մասնագետները դեռևս կասկածներ ունեն: Չնայած նրանում առկա սորբիտոլի, այն չի կարող թթվա-հիմնային բալանսի վրա մեծ ազդեցություն գործել: 

Ինչպիսի վնաս է պատճառում մաստակը

• Խախտվում է նորմալ թքարտադրությունը, մասնավորապես, արտազատվում է մեծ քանակությամբ  թուք:

• Եթե մաստակը ծամել սոված ժամանակ, ապա կարտազատվի մարսողական տրակտի պատերը քայքայող  ստամոքսահյութ, որն էլ կարող է հանգեցնել գաստրիտի:

• Եթե հաճախակի ծամել մաստակ, ապա կարող է առաջանալ լնդերում արյան ջրջանառության խանգարում, որը կարող է հանգեցնել բորբոքային պրոցեսի և անգամ պերիօդոնտիտի:

• Այն առաջացնում է մտածողության ֆունկցիաների բթացում: Նշվում է, որ մաստակ ծամելու ժամանակ վատանում է մարդու մտածողական գործընթացը:
