«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Յուրաքանչյուր ոք, ով երբևէ բախվել է էներգիայի կուտակման խնդիրների հետ, գիտի, որ հիմնական մարտահրավերներից մեկը կուտակիչների բարձր գինն ու կարճ կյանքի տևողությունն է, ինչը զգալիորեն նվազեցնում է էներգիայի արդյունավետ կուտակման ներուժը։ Այնուամենայնիվ, կա մեկ այլընտրանք, որը հազվադեպ է քննարկվում, բայց ներկայացնում է շատ հետաքրքիր հնարավորություն. դա էներգիայի կուտակումն է թափանիվի մեջ։ Այստեղ ամենահետաքրքիրն այն է, որ էներգիայի կուտակումը թափանիվների մեջ շատ է տարածված մեր շուրջը, և մենք դրան բազմիցս ենք հանդիպում։ Եվ այսպես, թափանիվը պտտվելիս կարող է կուտակել կինետիկ էներգիա։ Հետևաբար, կա կուտակման երկու տարբերակ՝ ծանր քաշ և/կամ բարձր անկյունային արագություն։

Փափանիվները մարդկության հետ են հնագույն ժամանակներից, քանի որ «էներգիան անիվի մեջ կուտակելու» գաղափարը, հավանաբար, առաջացել է էլեկտրաէներգիայի հայտնաբերումից դեռ շատ առաջ և սկզբնապես իրականացվել է այլ խնդիրներ լուծելու համար: Ընդ որում, դա՝ պարզապես հենվելով առօրյա դիտարկումների վրա։

Թափանիվի ամենահին օրինակներից մեկը հայտնի կավագործական անիվն է՝ սարք, որը նման է զանգվածեղ, հաստ քարե կամ կերամիկական սկավառակի։ Կավագործը պտտում է այն՝ դրա մակերեսին դնելով մշակման կավը։ Անիվի իներցիան բավարար է սկավառակը սահուն պտտելու և կլոր իրեր՝ կճուճներ, ափսեներ և այլ կավե անոթներ ստեղծելու համար։ Նման սարքերի մասին գրառումները մեզ են հասել դեռևս Հին Եգիպտոսի և Միջագետքի ժամանակներից։ Ժամանակի ընթացքում թափանիվները կիրառություն են գտել նաև թել մանելու սարքերում։ Ինչպես ձեռքով, այնպես էլ ոտքով աշխատող թափանիվների սկզբունքը լայնորեն օգտագործվել է նաև տարբեր «հղկող սարքերում»՝ դանակներ և այլ գործիքներ սրելու սարքերում։

Այսինքն, շարժիչներ դեռևս հորինված չեն եղել, բայց թափանիվը եղել է:

Արդյունաբերական հեղափոխության գալուստը և տարատեսակ շարժիչների ի հայտ գալն իր հետ բերել է աշխատանքային ցիկլերի «մեռյալ» կետերում շարժումը պահպանելու անհրաժեշտություն, և այստեղ էլ օգնության է հասել թափանիվը, որը համակարգված կերպով կուտակում և արտանետում է էներգիա՝ մեքենայի անընդհատ աշխատանքը պահպանելու համար։ Ավելին, շարժիչներում, մասնավորապես ներքին այրման շարժիչներում թափանիվը կատարելագործվել է՝ դառնալով ավելի կոմպակտ և արդյունավետ՝ T-աձև։

Ամփոփելով՝ կարելի է նշել, որ թափանիվներն ուղեկցել են մարդկությանն իր ողջ պատմության ընթացքում օգտագործվելով ամեն ինչում՝ պարզ ձևերից մինչև բարդ տեխնոլոգիաների իրականացում: Եվ ո՞վ գիտի, թե ինչ է բերելու ապագան: Գուցե թափանիվի օգտագործման նոր գաղափարներ լինե՞ն:
