Հայաստանը հարուստ է բնական հրաշքներով, սակայն դրանցից շատերը մնում են լայն հանրությանը քիչ հայտնի։ Այդպիսի վայրերից է Տավուշի մարզում գտնվող Զրնգան քարանձավը, որը իր խորհրդավոր տեսքով ու պատմական շերտերով առանձնահատուկ տեղ ունի տարածաշրջանի բնական ժառանգության մեջ։

Զրնգան քարանձավը գտնվում է Տավուշի մարզի լեռնային հատվածում՝ անտառներով ու ձորերով շրջապատված տարածքում։ Քարանձավը ձևավորվել է հազարավոր տարիների ընթացքում բնական գործընթացների արդյունքում և առանձնանում է իր նեղ անցուղիներով, քարե սրահներով ու յուրահատուկ ձայնային երևույթներով, ինչի պատճառով էլ ստացել է «Զրնգան» անվանումը։

Տեղացիների պատմությունների համաձայն՝ քարանձավը հին ժամանակներից հայտնի է եղել և օգտագործվել է որպես ապաստարան վտանգների ժամանակ։ Կան վկայություններ, որ այն ծառայել է նաև որպես ժամանակավոր բնակավայր և պահեստ՝ հատկապես պատերազմների շրջանում։ Քարանձավի ներսում պահպանված բնական ձևավորումները՝ կախված քարերը, խորշերն ու բնական կամարները, վկայում են մարդու և բնության երկարատև փոխհարաբերության մասին։

Զրնգան քարանձավը հետաքրքիր է ոչ միայն պատմական, այլև բնագիտական տեսանկյունից։ Այն բնակավայր է տարբեր կենդանական տեսակների համար, իսկ ներսի միկրոկլիման ամբողջ տարվա ընթացքում մնում է գրեթե կայուն։ Սա քարանձավը դարձնում է կարևոր ուսումնասիրության վայր մասնագետների համար, թեև այն դեռ ամբողջությամբ ուսումնասիրված չէ։

Չնայած իր բացառիկությանը՝ Զրնգան քարանձավը քիչ է ներառված զբոսաշրջային երթուղիներում և գրեթե չի պահպանվում որպես բնական հուշարձան։ Մասնագետների կարծիքով՝ ճիշտ մոտեցման դեպքում այն կարող է դառնալ Տավուշի մարզի էկոտուրիզմի կարևոր կենտրոններից մեկը՝ միաժամանակ պահպանելով իր բնական հավասարակշռությունը։

Զրնգան քարանձավը ևս մեկ օրինակ է այն մասին, թե որքան չբացահայտված գանձեր ունի Հայաստանը։ Այն հիշեցնում է, որ երբեմն ամենահետաքրքիր վայրերը գտնվում են ոչ թե հայտնի քարտեզների վրա, այլ մեր կողքին՝ սպասելով բացահայտմանը։
