Գիտնականները պարզել են, որ հունական Սանտորինի կղզու մոտ այս տարվա սկզբին տեղի ունեցած տասնյակ հազարավոր երկրաշարժերի պատճառը մագմայի (այսինքն՝ հալված ապարի) ստորգետնյա շարժն էր։

Հետազոտողները ֆիզիկական մոդելներ և արհեստական բանականություն են օգտագործել՝ պարզելու, թե ինչ պատճառներով են մոտ 20 կմ խորության վրա տեղի ունեցել ավելի քան 25 հազար հորիզոնական ցնցումները, հայտնում է BBC-ն։

Արհեստական բանականությունը կարևորագույն գործիքներից մեկն էր․ դրա օգնությամբ գիտնականները վերլուծել են յուրաքանչյուր ցնցման տվյալները և դրանք կապող օրինաչափությունները։

Հետազոտության հեղինակներից մեկը՝ Լոնդոնի համալսարանական քոլեջի դոկտոր Սթիվեն Հիքսը, նշել է, որ նոր տեխնոլոգիաների կիրառումը ֆիզիկական գիտելիքների համադրությամբ մոտ ապագայում կարող է օգնել կանխատեսելու հրաբուխների ժայթքումները։

Հունական Սանտորինի, Ամորգոս և Անաֆի կղզիների մոտ սեյսմիկ ակտիվությունը սկսել է աճել 2025 թվականի հունվարին։ Այնտեղ տեղի են ունեցել տասնյակ հազարավոր երկրաշարժեր, որոնցից շատերի մագնիտուդը գերազանցել է 5.0-ը։

Շատ զբոսաշրջիկներ հեռացել են, իսկ տեղի բնակիչները վախենում էին մերձակա Կոլումբո ստորջրյա հրաբխի մոտալուտ ժայթքումից։ Նաև մտավախություններ կային, որ ցնցումների շարքին կհաջորդի ավելի հզոր երկրաշարժ, ինչպիսին 1956 թվականինն էր, երբ 7.7 մագնիտուդով ցնցումը նույն տարածաշրջանում զգալի ավերածություններ էր գործել։

Science ամսագրում իրենց եզրակացությունները հրապարակած գիտնականները ստեղծել են Սանտորինիի շուրջ երկրակեղևի եռաչափ քարտեզը։ Այնուհետև նրանք նկարագրել են յուրաքանչյուր ցնցման պարամետրերը և դրանց համապատասխանող շարժումն ու լարվածությունը երկրակեղևում։ Սա թույլ է տվել կառուցել մանրամասն մոդել այն բանի, թե կոնկրետ ինչն է հանգեցրել երկրաշարժերի շարքին։

Հետազոտողների թիմը պարզել է, որ ակտիվությունը պայմանավորված է եղել մագմայի հորիզոնական շարժով։ Այն տեղի է ունեցել Սանտորինի կղզու և Կոլումբո հրաբխի տակ՝ մոտ 30 կմ երկարությամբ անցուղով, որը գտնվում է ծովի հատակից ավելի քան 10 կմ խորության վրա։

Ըստ գիտնականների գնահատականների, երկրակեղևով անցած մագմայի ծավալը կարող էր լցնել 200 հազար օլիմպիական լողավազան։ Հենց այդ «ինտրուզիաներն» են (ինչպես դրանք անվանում են երկրաբանության մեջ) իրենց ճանապարհին ճեղքել ապարների շերտերը՝ առաջացնելով հազարավոր ցնցումներ։

«Ցնցումները մեզ այնպիսի տեղեկատվություն են տալիս, ասես, գետնի խորքում սարքեր ունենք, որոնցից տվյալներ ենք ստանում,- բացատրում է հետազոտության առաջատար հեղինակ, սեյսմոերկրաֆիզիկոս Էնթոնի Լոմաքսը։- Երբ վերլուծում ենք «պատկերը», որն այդ երկրաշարժերը ստեղծում են Երկրի մեր 3D մոդելում, այն շատ լավ համընկնում է նրա հետ, ինչ ակնկալում ենք տեսնել մագմայի հորիզոնական շարժի դեպքում»։
