Շրջակա միջավայրի նախարար Համբարձում Մաթևոսյանը աշխատանքային այցով գտնվում է Արաբական Միացյալ էմիրություններում` Բնության պահպանության միջազգային միության (IUCN) Բնապահպանության համաշխարհային կոնգրեսին մասնակցության նպատակով: Այդ մասին հայտնում են ՇՄՆ-ից:

Այցի շրջանակում նախարարը հանդիպել է ԱՄԷ շրջակա միջավայրի և կլիմայական փոփոխությունների նախարար տիկին Ամնա ալ Շամսիի հետ։

Հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերը քննարկել են Կենսաբազմազանության մասին կոնվենցիայի 17-րդ կողմերի համաժողովի (COP17) նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները, որը նախատեսվում է անցկացնել 2026 թվականին Հայաստանում։ Զրույցի հիմնական առանցքում էր նաև Կունմին-Մոնրեալի գլոբալ կենսաբազմազանության շրջանակը (Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework)։ 

Հաշվի առնելով, որ Արաբական Միացյալ Էմիրությունները հաջողությամբ հյուրընկալել են COP28 համաժողովը, նախարարը կարևորել է այդ փորձի ուսումնասիրությունն ու կիրառումը Հայաստանում սպասվող COP17-ի կազմակերպչական գործընթացներում։

Նախարարը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը վճռական է COP17-ը կազմակերպել բարձր մակարդակով՝ համախմբելով միջազգային փորձը, առաջատար գիտական մոտեցումները և նորարարական լուծումները՝ նպաստելով գլոբալ կենսաբազմազանության պահպանությանը և շրջակա միջավայրի կայուն կառավարմանը։

Կողմերը նաև անդրադարձել են երկու երկրների նախարարությունների միջև ստորագրված հուշագրին, որի շրջանակում արդեն իրականացվում են մի շարք նախաձեռնություններ՝ ուղղված`

  •  կլիմայի փոփոխության դեմ պայքարին.
  •  կենսաբազմազանության պահպանությանը.
  •  շրջակա միջավայրի մոնիթորինգի և ազդեցության գնահատման համակարգերի կատարելագործմանը.
  •  վտանգավոր նյութերի և թափոնների կառավարմանը.
  •  բնական ռեսուրսների կայուն օգտագործմանը.
  •  էկոտուրիզմի զարգացմանը։

Հանդիպման ավարտին կողմերը հաստատել են համագործակցությունը շարունակելու պատրաստակամությունը՝ նպաստելով երկու երկրների միջև բնապահպանական ոլորտում փորձի փոխանակմանն ու համատեղ նախաձեռնությունների իրականացմանը։
