Էքսեթերի համալսարանի գիտնականները պարզել են, որ կլիմայի փոփոխությունը արագորեն նվազեցնում է Լատինական Ամերիկայում և Կարիբյան ավազանում բանան աճեցնելու հնարավորությունը՝ վտանգի տակ դնելով աշխարհի ամենահայտնի և կարևոր գյուղատնտեսական մշակաբույսերից մեկը:

Ինչպես սոցցանցի իր էջում գրում է «Հիդրոօդերևութաբանության և մոնիթորինգի կենտրոն» ՊՈԱԿ-ի տնօրեն Լևոն Ազիզյանը, աշխատանքը հրապարակվել է Nature Food (NF) ամսագրում։ Մինչև 2080 թվականը արտահանման նպատակով բանանի աճեցումը տնտեսապես ոչ շահավետ կդառնա այն տարածաշրջանների 60%-ի համար, որտեղ այն ներկայումս արտադրվում է։ Պատճառը կլիմայի փոփոխության պատճառով ջերմաստիճանի բարձրացումն է։

Բանանը արտահանման հիմնական արտադրանքն է՝ որը բերում է տարեկան 11 միլիարդ դոլար: Դրանք կարևոր դեր են խաղում շատ երկրների տնտեսություններում, սակայն առանց հրատապ հարմարվողականության միջոցառումների, միլիոնավոր մարդիկ կարող են կորցնել իրենց աշխատանքը: Երկրները, ինչպիսիք են Կոլումբիան և Կոստա Ռիկան, կհայտնվեն ամենաշատ տուժածների թվում, քանի որ այդտեղ ջերմաստիճանը չափազանց բարձր է դառնալու բանանի աճի համար:

Միևնույն ժամանակ, Էկվադորը և Բրազիլիայի մի մասը կկարողանան պահպանել արտադրությունը, քանի որ կլիմայի փոփոխությունն այս տարածաշրջաններում ավելի քիչ կործանարար կլինի:

«Ուսումնասիրությունը ցույց է տալիս նաև, որ արտադրության հարմարվողականությունը սահմանափակվում է սոցիալ-տնտեսական գործոններով, ինչպիսիք են աշխատուժի առկայությունը և նավահանգիստներին մոտ լինելը: Սա նշանակում է, որ բանանի տնկարկներն ավելի բարենպաստ շրջաններ տեղափոխելը դժվար է։ Պրոֆեսոր Դեն Բեբերը, ով ղեկավարել է ուսումնասիրությունը, շեշտել է, որ հարմարվողականության մեջ հրատապ ներդրումներ են անհրաժեշտ. «Կլիմայի փոփոխությունը սպառնում է ոչ միայն շրջակա միջավայրին, այլև համաշխարհային պարենային անվտանգությանը: Առանց հարմարվողականության մեջ հսկայական ներդրումների, ներառյալ բարելավված ոռոգումը և ջերմակայուն բանանի սորտերի զարգացումը, բանանի արտահանման արտադրության ապագան մնում է անորոշ»:

Որպես հարմարվողականության միջոցառումներ՝ գիտնականներն առաջարկում են ոռոգման ենթակառուցվածքների զարգացում, ջերմադիմացկուն և երաշտադիմացկուն սորտերի աճեցում և կլիմայական ռիսկերի կառավարման գործում ֆերմերներին աջակցություն: Առանց ակտիվ գործողությունների, կլիմայի փոփոխության հետևանքները կարող են հանգեցնել բանանի արդյունաբերության համաշխարհային ճգնաժամի:

Հետազոտողները կոչ են անում անհապաղ միջոցներ ձեռնարկել՝ արտադրությունը պահպանելու և միլիոնավոր մարդկանց աջակցելու համար, որոնց կյանքը կախված է այդ պտուղներից»,- գրում է Ազիզյանը:
