Նոյեմբերի 12-ին, գիշերվա ժամը 3-ին, ոստիկանության օպերատիվ կառավարման կենտրոնում ստացվել է հաղորդում, որ կտրած-ծակած վերքով «Սուրբ Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ» բժշկական կենտրոն է դիմել 31-ամյա մի երիտասարդ:

Հաղորդումը փոխանցվել է ոստիկանության Նոր Նորքի բաժին, որտեղից էլ հիվանդանոց է մեկել օպերատիվ խումբ: Պարզվել է, որ Շոպրոնի փողոցի 1-ին նրբանցքում անհայտ անձն է դանակահարել երիտասարդին: Ավելին պարզել չի հաջողվել. ըստ բժշկի տեղեկանքի` երիտասարդն ի վիճակի չէր հաղորդում տալու:

Փաստի առթիվ նախաձեռնվեց քրեական վարույթ:

Ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչության, Նոր Նորքի բաժնի և Ավանի բաժանմունքի քրեական հետախույզների համատեղ աշխատանքի արդյունքում ստացվեցին օպերատիվ տվյալներ, իսկ դրանց իրացմանը մասնակցեցին նաև Քրեական ոստիկանության գլխավոր վարչության ծառայողները: Օպերատիվ-հետախուզական միջոցառումների և քննչական գործողությունների արդյունքում պարզվեց, որ ամեն ինչ կատարվել էր նախնական համաձայնությամբ:
34-ամյա տղամարդը, որը վարում էր հասակակից ընկերոջ «ԲՄՎ»-ն, և 23-ամյա երիտասարդը` «Ինֆինիտի» մակնիշի մեքենայով, իրենց հինգ ընկերների հետ նոյեմբերի 12-ին, կեսգիշերն անց, Շոպրոնի 2-րդ նրբանցքի սկզբնամասում դարանակալում են 31-ամյա տուժածին և նրա ընկերներին: Գիշերվա ժամը 2-ին մոտ նկատելով տուժածի «Մերսեդեսը»՝ դարանակալողները «ԲՄՎ»-ով հարվածում-կանգնեցնում են մեքենան և իջեցնում են տուժածին ու ընկերոջը: «ԲՄՎ»-ի 34-ամյա սեփականատերը կտրող-ծակող առարկայով հարվածներ է հասցնում տուժածին, իսկ նրա ընկերոջը ծեծի ենթարկելուց հետո հարկադրաբար նստեցնում են «ԲՄՎ»-ն և առևանգում:

Նոյեմբերի 13-ին, ժամը 14.10-ին, Դավիթ Բեկի և Հունան Ավետիսյան փողոցների խաչմերուկում հայտնաբերվում, ձերբակալվում և, «Ինֆինիտի» մակնիշի մեքենայով հանդերձ, ոստիկանության Նոր Նորքի բաժին է տեղափոխվում 23-ամյա երիտասարդը: Հասակակից ընկերոջ մեքենան վարած 34-ամյա տղամարդը հայտնաբերվում է նոյեմբերի 14-ի առավոտյան ժամը 7.10-ին` Շինարարների փողոցում: 10 րոպե անց միջադեպին մասնակից 23-ամյա երիտասարդը հայտնաբերվում է Բագրատաշենի սահմանային անցակետում: 20 րոպե անց 25-ամյա մեկ այլ մասնակից հայտնաբերվում է Նոր Նորքի 5-րդ զանգվածում, իսկ նրա հասակակիցը 20 րոպե անց հայտնաբերվում է Մուրադյան փողոցում: Ժամը 11.45-ին իր բնակության վայր Սիլիկյան թաղամասում հայտնաբերվում է նաև 26-ամյա մասնակիցը:

Բոլորն էլ ձերբակալվում և տեղափոխվում են ոստիկանության Նոր Նորքի բաժին, այնուհետև ներկայացվում նախաքննական մարմին:

Ձեռնարկվում են միջոցառումներ՝ հանցագործության գործիքն ու դանակահարողին հայտնաբերելու ուղղությամբ:
Քրեական օրենսգրքի 166-րդ (Առողջությանը ծանր վնաս պատճառելը), 297-րդ (Խուլիգանությունը) և 191-րդ (Մարդուն առևանգելը) հոդվածների հատկանիշներով նախաձեռնվել է քրեական վարույթ:
