Վագիֆ Խաչատրյանը ներկայացրել է իրադարձությունների իր տարբերակը

Լաչինի միջանցքում ադրբեջանցի զինվորականների կողմից առևանգված Վագիֆ Խաչատրյանը հայտարարել է, որ չի ընդունում Բաքվում իրեն առաջադրված մեղադրանքները:
Նշենք, որ Վագիֆ Խաչատրյանի խոսքերը մեջբերվում են այնպես, ինչպես ներկայացրել են ադրբեջանական լրատվամիջոցները։
Խաչատրյանն ասել է, որ 1973 թվականին ավարտել է ավտոդպրոցը, 1974-1976 թվականներին ծառայել է խորհրդային բանակում, այնուհետ աշխատել Ստեփանակերտի գյուղատնտեսական-արդյունաբերական բաժնում որպես վարորդ։ 1992 թ․-ին, իսկ երբ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանը գլխավորել է «Ղարաբաղ» կոմիտեն, Խաչատրյանը մոբիլիզացվել է Ստեփանակերտի զինկոմիսարիատի կողմից։
Խաչատրյանը, ի թիվս Պատարա գյուղի մոտ 100 բնակիչների, գնացել է զինկոմիսարիատ ու գրանցվել։ Գյուղ վերադառնալուն պես նորակոչիկներին բաժանել են 3 խմբի՝ յուրաքանչյուրը 33 հոգանոց, ապա ուղարկել Ասկերանի շրջանի Նորագյուղ։
1992 թվականին 5-10-օրյա դասընթացն ավարտելուց հետո խումբը, որի կազմում ընդգրկված էր Խաչատրյանը, ուղարկվել է Փառուխ լեռան բարձունքներ՝ ծառայելու։ Խաչատրյանի խոսքով՝ ընդհանուր առմամբ 7 օր է ծառայել։
Նա նշել է, որ այս ընթացքում Փառուխ լեռան շրջակայքում մարտեր չեն եղել ադրբեջանցիների հետ։
Խիստ լեռնային կլիմայական պայմաններում Խաչատրյանը մրսել է, առողջական խնդիրներ ձեռք բերել, ուստի 1992 թվականի հոկտեմբերին հոսպիտալացվել է Ստեփանակերտի քաղաքային հիվանդանոց, որտեղ բուժվել է 20 օր, իսկ հետո հիվանդության պատճառով ազատվել ծառայությունից և ուղարկվել թիկունք՝ որպես բանվոր Նորագյուղի սննդի պահեստում։
1994 թվականի հունիսին՝ պատերազմի ավարտից հետո, Խաչատրյանը թողել է այս աշխատանքը և սկսել է հողագործությամբ զբաղվել Պատարա գյուղում։
Հիշեցնենք` անհետաձգելի բուժօգնություն ստանալու համար Արցախից Հայաստան տեղափոխվող Վագիֆ Խաչատրյանին Ադրբեջանի սահմանապահ ծառայության ներկայացուցիչները առևանգեցին հուլիսի 29–ին։ Ավելի ուշ հայտնի դարձավ, որ նրան մեղադրանք է ներկայացվել, ըստ որի` Վագիֆ Խաչատրյանն իբր հանցավոր խումբ է ստեղծել, որը 1991թ. դեկտեմբերի 21-ին մասնակցել է Իվանյանի (Խոջալու) շրջանի Մեշալի գյուղի բնակիչների դեմ հանցագործություններին։
