Ռուս-ուկրաինական պատերազմում Թուրքիան, չեզոք դիրք է գրավել: Ինչպես հայտարարել է Թուրքիայի արտգործնախարարը, իրենք այն բացառիկ երկրներից են, որ երկու կողմի հետ էլ ունեն լավ հարաբերություններ, հետևաբար չեն կարող որևէ կողմի առանձնացնել:
 
Այս թեմայի մասին զրուցել ենք թուրքագետ Ռուբեն Սաֆրաստյանի հետ։
 
Հարցին, թե Թուրքիայի նման դիրքորոշումն ինչո՞վ է բացատրվում` թուրքագետն ասաց. «Ինչպես ռուսական կողմն է ասում՝ դա հատուկ գործողություն է, ոչ պատերազմ, որում Թուրքիան բնավ էլ չեզոք դիրքորոշում չունի, որովհետև նա բազմիցս հայտարարել է, որ ինքը հավատարիմ կլինի ՆԱՏՕ-ի բոլոր գործողություններին, եթե ծավալվեն Ռուսաստանի դեմ: Թուրքիան փորձում է ներկայանալ որպես չեզոք, որովհետև տնտեսական շահեր ունի Ռուսաստանի հետ, բայց այստեղ կա նաև Մոնտրյոյի պայմանագրի խնդիրը: Թուրքիան հայտարարեց, որ ինքը հավատարիմ կլինի այդ պայմանագրին ու համաձայն դրա, փաստորեն փակեց Բոսֆորն ու Դարդանելը երկու երկրների նավերի համար: Թուրքիան նաև հայտարարեց, որ ռազմանավերն իրավունք կունենան անցնել Բոսֆորով ու Դարդանելով, եթե նրանք մաս են կազմում Սև ծովում գտնվող նավատորմերի: Հայտնի է, որ Ռուսաստանը, բացի Սև ծովից, այլ վայրերում էլ ունի նավատորմեր՝ ի տարբերություն Ուկրաինայի: Փաստորեն Թուրքիայի այս գործողությունն ուղղված է հիմնականում ռուսական նավերի դեմ, ու արդեն կան տեղեկություններ, որ ռուսական 3-4 ռազմանավի արգելել են Սև ծովով մտնել Բոսֆոր: Կարծում եմ, որ այս գործողություններն ուղղված են Ռուսաստանի գործողությունների դեմ ոչ միայն Սև ծովում, այլ նաև Ռուսաստանի դիրքերի թուլացմանը Սիրիայում: Հայտնի է, որ Սիրիայում ռուսական զինված ստորաբաժանումները հիմնականում սնուցվում են ծովային ճանապարհով՝ Բոսֆորով ու Դարդանելով, այնպես որ, սա թուլացնում է նաև Ռուսաստանի դիրքերը Սիրիայում, իսկ այս հաշվարկը, վստահ եմ, Թուրքիան կատարել է, որովհետև նա էլ Սիրիայում ունի իր շահերը: Մոտ մեկ ամիս առաջ նա պատրաստվում էր չորրորդ ագրեսիվ գործողություններն իրականացնել Սիրիայի դեմ, բայց ռուսական ճնշման ներքո դա չարեց, իսկ հիմա այս հնարավորությունն օգտագործում է, որ թուլացնի ռուսական զինված ստորաբաժանումը, որպեսզի իր դիրքերն ուժեղացնի Սիրիայում ու այն օկուպացված տարածքներում, որոնք իր վերահսկողության տակ են»։
