Բզկտված ԱՐՑԱԽ. վերադառնալու´ ենք:
ՋՐԱԲԵՐԴ, գյուղ Արցախի Հանրապետության Մարտակերտի շրջանում, որը Նիկոլի և նրան կցված խունտայի շնորհիվ, ներկայումս ժամանակավորապես գտնվում է Ադրբեջանի «զինված ուժերի» վերահսկողության ներքո։
Գյուղը շրջկենտրոնից 6 կմ հյուսիս-արևմուտք՝ 450 մետր բարձրության վրա՝ Թարթառ գետի աջ ափին։ Ջրաբերդ անվան ծագումը բառացի՝ «Ջրային Բերդ», այն հայտնի է նաև այլ անվանումներով՝ Ջերմուկ, Չարոբերտ և այն։ Այս միջնադարյան հայկական ամրոցը գտնվում է Թրխի և Թարթառ գետերի բարձրադիր լեռների վրա։ Համաձայն ԼՂՀ վարչատարածքային բաժանման ամրոցը գտնվում է Մարտակերտի շրջանում և վերահսկվում է ԼՂՀ կողմից։
Ըստ Րաֆֆու՝ Ջրաբերդ ամրոցը «կանգնած» է եղել հենց ջրի վրա, որի գագաթին հսկայական ժայռաբեկոր է, որը ներքևից ողողվում է մոլեգնած Թարթառի և թրեխի ջրերով։ 18-րդ դարի սկզբներին հայտնի արցախյան հզոր պաշտպանական կառույցներից մեկը՝ Չարաբերդ-Ջրաբերդի սղնախը, գտնվել է այստեղ և հետագայում ևս շարունակել է մնալ գավառի կարևոր մելիքական հիմնական ամրոցը։
Նշենք նաև, որ Ջրաբերդը հյուսիս -արևելյան Հայաստանի պատմական ամրոցներից մեկն է եղել։ Այն կանգուն է Արշակունյանց թագավորության ժամանակաշրջանից։ Առաջին անգամ Ջրաբերդի մասին հիշատակել է վաղ միջնադարյան նշանավոր պատմաբան Մովսես Կաղանկատվացի։
Ջրաբերդը տարբեր ժամանակաշրջաններում եղել է հայկական մեիքության ղեկամարման տակ, որոնց ծնունդներ են՝ Վաղթանգյաները, Հասան Ջալալյանները, Մելիք-Իսրաելյանը, Մելիք-Ալավերդյան և Աթաբեկյանները։ Ամրոցի ավերակները պահպանվել են մինչև մեր օրերը։ Մինչև օկուպացիան, այցելելով Մարտակերտի տարածաշրջան, կարող էինք տեսնել այդ պատմական վայրի ռազմական և տնտեսական կառույցները, դարպասը և ամրոցը։ Ի դեպ՝ Ջրաբերդի ավերակներից փորված էր թունել։
Բերդից ոչ հեռու գտնվում է հայկական Երեք Մանկուկ (Երից Մանկանց) եկեղեցին, որը կառուցվել է 16-17-րդ դարերում։ Այստեղ պահպանվել են հայկական խաչքարեր, նկարներ և այլն։ Այն միջնադարյան հայ եկեղեցաշինության փայլուն օրինակ է։ Կառուցվել է 1691 թվականին, այն հիմնվել է Մելիք-Իսրայելյանների կողմից, Ջրաբերդի իշխանները, գուցե որպես Գանձասարի և նրա իշխանների՝ Հասան-Ջալալյանների, Խաչենի իշխանների մրցակից։ Պահպանված արձանագրությունների համաձայն՝ եկեղեցին կառուցել են Աղվանից կաթողիկոս Սիմեոնը և իր եղբայր Իգնատիոս վարդապետը՝ 1664 թվականին։
