ՀՀ քննչական կոմիտեի Կոտայքի մարզային քննչական վարչության Աբովյանի քննչական բաժնում կատարված մեծածավալ, անհետաձգելի քննչական և դատավարական այլ գործողությունների, ինչպես նաև ձեռնարկված օպերատիվ-հետախուզական միջոցառումների արդյունքում պարզվել են Ջրվեժ գյուղի բնակչի սպանության մի շարք հանգամանքներ, շարժառիթը, ենթադրյալ հանցագործություն կատարած անձի ինքնությունը:

Քննությամբ ձեռք բերված փաստական տվյալների համաձայն՝ տուժողը, կնոջ և երեխաների հետ բնակվելով Գերմանիայի Դաշնային Հանրապետությունում, զբաղվել է ավտոմեքենաների վաճառքով, այդ թվում՝ ավտոմեքենաները ՀՀ տեղափոխելու եղանակով, իսկ 2020թ. հուլիսին վերադարձել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետություն և բնակվել Կոտայքի մարզի Ջրվեժ թաղամասում:  Նշված գործընթացի կազմակերպման հարցում նրան աջակցություն է ցուցաբերել իր ծանոթը, որն իր տանը կից ավտոտեխսպասարկման կետում զբաղվել է ավտոմեքենաների վերանորոգմամբ:

2019-2020թթ. Ջրվեժի բնակիչը  բանավոր համաձայնությամբ, գումարը մաս-մաս վճարելու պայմանով ծանոթին է վաճառել իրեն պատկանող` «MERCEDES-BENZ»  մակնիշի 4 ավտոմեքենա` ընդհանուր 11.000.000 ՀՀ դրամ արժողությամբ, ինչպես նաև՝ շինարարական գործիքներ 4.000.000 ՀՀ դրամ արժողությամբ:

Արդյունքում տղամարդը պարտավորվել է մաս-մաս վերադարձնել շուրջ 15.000.000 ՀՀ դրամ գումար, սակայն իր պարտավորությունները կատարել է մասնակի և վերադարձրել է միայն 1.500.000 ՀՀ դրամ: Պարտք մնացած առանձնապես խոշոր չափերի գումարը վերադարձնելու պարտականությունից ազատվելու, այդ կերպ որոշակի նյութական օգուտ ստանալու նպատակով վերջինս որոշել է ապօրինաբար կյանքից զրկել պարտապանին:

2020թ. հոկտեմբերի 31-ին` ժամը 13:55-ին, տուժողը միայնակ այցելել է ծանոթին պատկանող ավտոտեխսպասարկման կետ, որտեղ տեղի ունեցած վիճաբանության ժամանակ վերջինս, հանցավոր մտադրությունն իրագործելու նպատակով, Ջրվեժ գյուղի բնակչին դիտավորությամբ զրկել է կյանքից, ապա նրա դին տեղափոխել է Կոտայքի մարզի Կապուտան գյուղի վարչական տարածքում գտնվող դաշտամիջյան հատված ու թաղել հողի ծածկույթի տակ: 2021թ. ապրիլի 28-ին նշված վայրից հայտնաբերվել է վերջինիս  դին` գանգի շրջանում վնասվածքներով:

Ձեռք բերված բավարար ապացույցների համակցությամբ՝ 2021թ. հունիսի 9-ին որոշում է կայացվել՝ տուժողի ծանոթին  ՀՀ քրեական 104-րդ հոդվածի 2-րդ մասի 8-րդ կետով որպես մեղադրյալ ներգրավելու մասին, և հայտարարվել է հետախուզում: Նրա նկատմամբ որպես խափանման միջոց է ընտրվել կալանավորումը:
