Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության հումանիտար ծրագրերի ղեկավար Մարկ Լոուքոքը նախազգուշացրել է, որ Եթովպիայի Տիգրայ շրջանում սով է սպասվում և հարյուր հազարավոր մարդկանց մահվան վտանգ կա, հայտնում է Al Jazeera լրատվականը։
«Մենք արդեն լսում ենք սովից մահվան դեպքերի մասին։ Մարդիկ պետք է արթնանան։ Միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է ակտիվանա, այդ թվում՝ փող տրամադրելու միջոցով», - ասել է Լոուքոքը։ Նա նշել է, որ պատերազմի հետևանքով բերքի ոչնչացումից և տնտեսության անկումից հետո Տիգրայի ընդդիմության կողմից վերահսկվող հատվածներում փորձեր են արվել կանխել սննդի մատակարարումը։ Լոուքոքի փոխանցմամբ՝ կան տարածքներ, որտեղ հումանիտար օգնություն հասցնելը շատ բարդ է, ինչը կապված է տարածքներում վերահսկողություն հաստատած ուժերի հետ։ Նա նշել է, որ բոլոր խոչընդոտները պետք է վերացվեն։
«Վարչապետ Աբի Ահմեդը պետք է անի այն, ինչ ասել էր և պետք է դուրս հանի էրիթրեացիներին երկրից», - ասել է Լոքուքոքը և նշել, որ խոշոր արդյունաբերություն ունեցող 7 պետություններ` Միացյալ Նահանգները, Մեծ Բրիտանիան, Գերմանիան, Ֆրանսիան, Ճապոնիան, Իտալիան և Կանադան հունիսի 11-13 կայանալիք իրենց համաժողովի օրակարգում պետք է քննարկեն հումանիտար ճգնաժամը և համատարած սովի սպառնալիքը Հյուսիսային Եթովպիայում։
Ինչպես ավելի վաղ տեղեկացրել էր Tert.am-ը, Եթովպիայի վարչապետ Աբի Ահմեդը, որը 2019 թվականին Խաղաղության նոբելյան մրցանակի է արժանացել, 2020 թվականի նոյեմբերին կարգադրել է ցամաքային և օդային ռազմական գործողություններ իրականացնել Տիգրայ շրջանում՝ մեղադրելով շրջանում իշխող «Տիգրայի ազատագրման ազգային ճակատ»-ին դաշնային բանակային ուժերի վրա հարձակումների համար։ Նոյեմբերի վերջին վարչապետը հայտնել է հաղթանակի մասին, սակայն Տիգրայում շարունակվող մարտերի հետևանքով արդեն իսկ զոհվել են հազարավոր մարդիկ, իսկ գրեթե 2 միլիոն մարդ լքել է իր բնակության վայրը։
Հայտնի է, որ 2 ամսվա ընթացքում համապատասխան օգնությունը չապահովելու դեպքում սովի վտանգ կարող է առաջանալ, քանի որ մարտերի ընթացքում տարածաշրջանի բերքի ավելի քան 90 տոկոսն այրվել կամ գողացվել է։
