1910 - վախճանվել է Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս Մատթեոս Իզմիրլյանը:
1932 - ծնվել է ակադեմիկոս Արման Քուչուկյանը, որի ղեկավարությամբ ստեղծվել է ЕС-2345 մատրիցային պրոցեսորը. այն առաջինն էր ԽՍՀՄ-ում։
1937– գնդակահարվել է հայ նշանավոր զինվորական, խորհրդային կարմիր բանակի հրամանատար Գայը (Հայկ Բժշկյանց)։
1939 - ծնվել է դերասանուհի Գրետա Գալստյանը։
1946- Միավորված ազգերի ընդհանուր ասամբլեայի կողմից ընդունվել է Ռաֆայել Լեմկինի առաջարկած 96 (1) որոշումը, որտեղ առաջին անգամ ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչվել է միջազգային ոճիր։
1988- Լենինականի (Գյումրի) մոտ վայրէջքի ժամանակ վթարվել է Ил-76 ինքնաթիռը, որի արդյունքում զոհվել է 77 մարդ:
2002-Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Ազգային ժողովն ընդունել է պետական պաշտոնյաների աշխատավարձերը բարձրացնելու մասին օրինագիծ:
2006-17-ամյա հայ երգչուհի Սիլվա Հակոբյանը իր I Like կատարումով դարձել է BBC-ի Next Big Thing հեղինակավոր մրցույթի հաղթող:

մ.թ.ա.17-ծնվել է հռոմեացի կոնսուլ Գնեյ Դոմիցիան Ահենոբաբը՝ Ներոնի հայրը: 1519 –Տորունիի Սեյմը որոշում է ընդունել պատերազմ սկսել Տևտոնյան օրդենի դեմ և հարկեր է մտցրել վարձկաններ վարձելու նպատակով: 1582 –վախճանվել է Կոնտրռեֆորմացիայի ժամանակաշրջանի իսպանացի պետական և ռազմական գործիչ Հերցոգ Ալբան: 1688 –Փառահեղ հեղափոխության ժամանակ թագավոր Յակոբ 2-րդը փախել է Լոնդոնից, բայց բռնվել և հետ վերադարձվել Լոնդոն՝ Ուիլ յամ 3-րդի մոտ: 1803 –ծնվել է ֆրանսիացի երգահան, դիրիժոր, երաժշտագետ, երաժշտական քննադատ Հեկտոր Բեռլիոզը:
1816– Ինդիանան դարձել է ԱՄՆ-ի 19-րդ նահանգը։
1843– ծնվել է գերմանացի մանրէաբան, բակտերիաբանության և համաճարակաբանության հիմնադիրներից մեկը՝ Ռոբերտ Կոխը:
1856 -ծնվել է ռուս փիլիսոփա, մարքսիզմի տեսաբան Գեորգի Պլեխանովը:
1882 -ծնվել է գերմանաբրիտանական ֆիզիկոս-տեսաբան, մաթեմատիկոս Մաքս Բոռնը, որը հանդիսանում է քվանտային մեխանիկայի հիմնադիրներից մեկը:
1899 - երկրորդ անգլո-բուրական պատերազմի ժամանակ կայացել է Մագերսֆոնտեյնի ճակատամարտը, որի ժամանակ Պիտ Կրոնյեի ղեկավարած բուրական բանակը պարտության է մատնել Լորդ Մետյուենի ղեկավարած բրիտանական բանակին:
1913– ծնվել է ֆրանսիացի ճանաչված դերասան Ժան Մարեն, որը հայտնի է առավելապես «Ֆանտոմասի» մասին ֆիլմաշարից։
1918 - ծնվել է ռուս արձակագիր, հրապարակախոս, հասարակական գործիչ, Նոբել յան մրցանակի դափնեկիր Ալեքսանդր Սոլժենիցինը:
1922-ծնվել է թատրոնի և կինոյի դերասան, սպորտսմեն, սպորտային մեկնաբան Նիկոլայ Օզերովը:
1931 –կայացել է Վեստմինստերյան ստատուսը՝ անգլիական պառլամենտի ակտը, որով սահմանվել են դոմինիոնների իրավական դրությունը և փոխհարաբերությունները Մեծ Բրիտանիայի հետ։
1946– ՄԱԿ-ին կից ստեղծվել է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը՝ երեխաների պաշտպանության միջազգային կոմիտեն։
1958– հռչակվել է Ֆրանսիական Դագոմեայի Հանրապետությունը։
1969– ծնվել է հնդիկ նշանավոր շախմատիստ, գրոսմայստեր Վիշվանաթան Անանդը:
1972 -Յուջին Սերնան և Հարիսսոն Սմիթը («Ապոլոն-17») իրականացրել են թվով 6-րդ և վերջին վայրէջքը Լուսնի մակերևույթի վրա:
1981 -Սալվադորում ընթացող քաղաքացիական պատերազմի ընթացքում կառավարական զորքերը Էլ-Մոզոտե գյուղի մոտ իրականացրել են արյունոտ սպանդ, որի արդյունքում զոհվել է 700 մարդ:
1994– սկսվել է ռուս - չեչենական առաջին պատերազմը։
