Մենք գիտենք, որ...

Մոլորվելիս պետք է իմանալ, որ մամուռը աճում է ծառի հյուսիսային կողմից, և հիմք ընդունելով դա՝ կարելի է կողմնորոշվել:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Բանն այն է, որ մամուռը «հաճույքով» աճում է ստվերոտ և խոնավ միջավայրում, և միայնակ կանգնած ծառի դեպքում հենց այդպես էլ լինում է՝ այն աճում է հյուսիսային կողմից: Իսկ ահա անտառում սովորաբար մամուռը աճում է ցանկացած ուղղությամբ: Բանն այն է, որ կոնկրետ տարածքում խոնավության առկայությունը որոշվում է ինչպես տվյալ տարածքում քամիների գերակշռող ուղղություններից, այնպես էլ կոնկրետ ծառի բնի՝ ստվերում գտնվելուց: Իսկ այս համակցությունները կարող են խիստ տարբեր լինել, և արդյունքում ստացվի, որ մամուռն աճում է, ասենք, հարավային կողմից: Պարզ է, որ այսպես անհնար է կողմնորոշվել:
