«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

 Քաղաքական տարատեսակ ֆոբիաները կարծես թե դառնում են մեր առօրյայի անբաժանելի ու ստվերային հատվածը։ Ոմանք վախենում են Քոչարյանից, մյուսները՝ Նիկոլից, երրորդները՝ քաղաքականությունից ընդհանրապես, չորրորդներն էլ, օրինակ, «Փաստ» օրաթերթից, երբեմն էլ՝ նույնիսկ թերթի ստվերից։ 
 
Չէ, դեմ չենք, իսկապես էլ լինում են մարդիկ և քաղաքական գործիչներ, որոնք կարող են վախենալու լինել՝ իրենց հավակնոտությամբ, միջոցների միջև խտրականություն չդնելու էությամբ, բայց արդյոք կարելի՞ է ամեն քայլափոխի վախենալ։ Տպավորություն է, թե մենք հայտնվել ենք համընդհանուր վախի մթնոլորտում:
 
Բայց մի՞թե այսքան շատ վախի չափաքանակը առողջ է։ Չէ՞ որ վերջին երեք ամիսներն անցնում են սիրո, համերաշխության ու հանդուրժողականության կարգախոսների ներքո և դա շատ լավ է, դա մեր հանրության, հավաքական հանրության՝ այդ թվում նաև նախկին իշխանությունների (ինչքան էլ նրանց քննադատենք ու քննադատելու տեղ ունենանք) ձեռքբերումն է։ Եվ ուրեմն ինչո՞ւ վախենալ, երբ մենք վստահում ենք կամ գոնե ուզում ենք վստահել մեր իշխանությանը, արդարադատությանը, իրավապահ մարմիններին։ Ընդհանրապես, ի՞նչ է նշանակում վախ քաղաքականության մեջ, չէ որ դա պատերազմ չէ՝ բառիս բուն իմաստով, պայքար՝ այո, կռիվ, բախում՝ այո, բայց ոչ պատերազմ։ 
 
Ոչ էլ 1980–ականների Կոլումբիայում ենք կամ աֆրիկական որևէ երկրում, որտեղ քաղաքական հակառակորդները բառիս բուն իմաստով ուտում էին միմյանց։ Կարծես թե որևէ մեկը որևէ մեկին չի պատրաստվում ուտել։ Կարճ ասած՝ վախը չի կարող քաղաքական կատեգորիա լինել, գուցե քաղաքականության մեջ անհրաժեշտ են և՛ քաջ, և՛ զգուշավոր մարդիկ, բայց միևնույն է՝ վախով ոչինչ չի կառուցվում՝ առավել ևս՝ երկիր։
 
Ուստի՝ գուցե ժամանակն է՝ մեր բոլոր երևակայական ու իրական վախերից ձերբազատվել, սթափվել, ինչպես ասում էր դասականը, խորհել մեր գործի, անելիքների, մեր խնդիրների ու դրանց հաղթահարման մասին՝ յուրաքանչյուրս մեր չափով։ Գուցե ժամանակն է երևույթներից, իրողություններից ու մարդկանցից վախենալու փոխարեն փորձել պարզապես հասկանալ, վեր հանել լավ ու վատ կողմերը, բարձրաձայնել դրանք, քննադատել՝ անխնա, բայց ոչ վախենալ։ Վերջապես, չէ՞ որ շատ ենք սիրում ասել՝ մենք ենք տերը մեր երկրի, ասել է թե՝ մեր երկրում մեր տանն ենք, արդյո՞ք մենք վախենում ենք մեր տան մեջ։ Միանշանակ՝ ոչ։
