Պատգամավորը եզդիների դեմ ոճրագործությունը Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը միջազգայնորեն չճանաչելու հետեւանքն է համարում

: Իրաքում 2014 թվականին օգոստոսի 3-ին «Իսլամական պետության» կողմից եզդիների դեմ իրականացված ոճրագործությունը ոչ այլ ինչ էր, քան միջազգային իրավունքի սկզբունքներին համապատասխանող ցեղասպանություն: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ լրագրողների հետ զրույցում այս մասին ասաց ԱԺ պատգամավոր Ռուստամ Մախմուդյանը:
«Իսլամական պետությունը փորձեց տարբերակում մտցնել. բոլոր քրիստոնյաներին առաջարկեց ազատել տարածքը, բայց դիտարկեց, որ եթե եզդիները հեթանոսներ են, նրանք անհավատներ են, ապա նրանք ոչ թե պիտի տեղահանվեն, այլ ոչնչացվեն: Շուրջ 300 հազար եզդի այսօր փախստական է: Կան շատ եզդի մայրեր, քույրեր, աղջիկներ, ովքեր այսօր էլ գերության մեջ են»,-ասաց նա:
Պատգամավորի խոսքով՝ զոհերի թվի հետ կապված մինչ օրս հստակեցումներ չկան, հստակ թվաքանակի մասին խոսել հնարավոր չէ, որովհետեւ նրա դիտարկմամբ՝ միգուցե կան ամիսներ, տարիներ շարունակ անհայտ վայրերում ապրող մարդիկ, որոնց գոյության մասին տվյալներ հայտնի չեն: Ռուստամ Մախմուդյանը կարծում է, որ եզդիների ցեղասպանությունը Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը միջազգայնորեն չճանաչելու հետեւանքն է:
«Ցեղասպանության հանցագործությունը կանխելու եւ պատժելու մասին կոնվեցիայի բոլոր դրույթները նախանշում են, թե որ դեպքում եւ մարդկանց որ խմբերի նկատմամբ կատարված ոճրագործությունը կարելի է համարել ցեղասպանություն, եւ եթե այդ չափանիշները թվարկենք, ապա սա դասական ցեղասպանության օրինակ է: Մենք գիտենք, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից մազապուրծ եղած հայ ժողովուրդը՝ դեռեւս չամոքված վերքերով, շատ լավ պատկերացնում է, թե ինչ է ցեղասպանությունը, եւ ԱԺ պատգամավոր ընտրվելուց հետո մեկ անգամ եւս գործընկերների հետ քննարկումների ժամանակ համոզվել ենք, որ հայ ժողովուրդը վերահաստատում է իր պատրաստակամությունը եզդիների նկատմամբ իրականացված ոճրագործությունը ճանաչել որպես ցեղասպանություն եւ դատարկել այն: Պետք է, իհարկե, համբերատար լինենք. սա շուտափույթ ընդունվող փաստաթուղթ չէ, եւ պարզունակ գործընթաց չէ»,-նշեց պատգամավորը՝ շեշտելով, որ այդուհանդերձ այս ուղղությամբ կատարվելիք գործողությունները չպետք է վտանգեն Հայաստանի պետական շահերը, մասնավորապես՝ արտաքին քաղաքական խնդիրները:
