Թոքի քաղցկեղով հիվանդացությունը Հայաստանում վերջին 5 տարիներին աճել է 8 տոկոսով՝ 97 դեպքով, իսկ մահացությունը՝ 5.8 տոկոսով: Հիվանդացությունը բարձր է հատկապես Սյունիքում, Լոռիում և Տավուշում, համեմատաբար ցածր է Վայոց ձորում, Արագածոտնում, Արարատում և Գեղարքունիքում: Օգոստոսի 1-ին «Ուռուցքաբանության ազգային կենտրոն»-ում կայացած գիտաժողովում կենտրոնի վիճակագրական բաժանմունքի հավաքագրած տվյալները ներկայացրեց «Վիրաբուժական ուռուցքաբանության հայկական միություն» ՀԿ նախագահ Գագիկ Համբարձումյանը:

«Թոքի քաղցկեղը Հայաստանում գրավում է առաջին տեղը՝ թե հիվանդացության, թե մահացության ցուցանիշներով: Այն առավել հաճախ հանդիպում է  տղամարդկանց մոտ: Այն երկրներում, որտեղ ծխելու դեմ իրականացվում են արդյունավետ մեթոդներ, թոքի քաղցկեղի 5 տարվա ապրելիությունը կազմում է 16 տոկոս, իսկ Հայաստանում 3 տարվա ապրելիությունը կազմում է մոտ 10 տոկոս»,- ասաց Համբարձումյանը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ հիվանդացությունը բարձր է Սյունիքի մարզում՝ 100.000 մարդու հաշվով՝ 62, Լոռիում՝ 57,6, Տավուշում՝ 52, Կոտայքում՝ 47,7: Համեմատաբար ցածր է Վայոց ձորի, Գեղարքունիքի, Արագածոտնի և Արարատի մարզերում:

Մահացությունը բարձր է Սյունիքում՝ 900.000 մարդու հաշով՝ 50, Շիրակում՝ 44, Լոռիում՝ 44.9  և Կոտայքում՝ 40.1: Այն ցածր է Վայոց  ձորում, Արագածոտնում և Երևանում: Բարձիթողությունը բարձր է Վայոց ձորում՝ 81 տոկոս, Գեղարքունիքում՝ 78.1 տոկոս, իսկ Արարատի մարզում՝ 73.8 տոկոս, ցածր է Արագածոտնի, Կոտայքի, Շիրակի մարզերում և Երևանում:

«Թոքի քաղցկեղի առաջացման գործոններ են ծխելը, հանքարդյունաբերությունը, աղտոտվածությունը որոշ մարզերում: Յուրաքանչյուր առաջնակի հայտնաբերված թոքի քաղցկեղի 100 դեպքի դիմաց ՀՀ-ում արձանագրվում է 85-90 մահվան դեպք: Դրանց մեջ մտնում են ինչպես առաջնակի, այնպես էլ նախորդ տարիներին հայտնաբերված հիվանդությունները»,-ասաց  Գագիկ Համբարձումյանը:

Մասնագետը նշեց, որ վերջին 30 տարում թոքի քաղցկեղով հիվանդացությունը Հայաստանում աճել է 682 դեպքով կամ 108.4 տոկոսով: Նշված տվյալները խոսում են այն մասին, որ հիվանդների զգալի մասը հայտնաբերվում է ուշացած փուլերում, և հաճախ հնարավոր չի լինում իրականացնել արմատական բուժում:

Տարեկան ամբողջ աշխարհում ախտորոշվում է թոքի քաղցկեղով հիվանդ մոտ 1 մլն մարդ՝ կազմելով  բոլոր օնկոլոգիական հիվանդությունների մահացության 60 տոկոսը:
