Գեները, հորմոնները եւ կենսակերպը ազդում են ուռուցքների առաջացման  ռիսկի վրա։ Դրա վրա ազդում են նաեւ մեր ամենօրյա սովորույթները։

1. Հորմոնալ հակաբեղմնավորիչների ընդունումը

Էստրոգեններ պարունակող հորմոնալ հակաբեղմնավորիչները պաշտպանում են անցանկալի հղիությունից, սակայն կարող են վտանգավոր լինել կրծքագեղձի համար, որովհետեւ բարձրացնում են արյան մեջ այդ հորմոնի մակարդակը եւ չափից ավելի խթանում են կրծքի բջիջները, ինչը կարող է նպաստել չարորակ գործընթացների զարգացմանը։ 2014 թվին Cancer Research ամսագրում հրապարակված  հետազոտությունը ցույց է տվել, որ կանայք, որոնց հակաբեղմնավորիչ հաբերը շատ էստրոգեն են պարունակում (50 միկրոգրամ եւ ավելի) ավելի են ենթակա կրծքի քաղցկեղի առաջացման ռիսկին, քան նրանք, ովքեր էստրոգենի փոքր պարունակությամբ (20 միկրոգրամ) հաբեր են խմում։

2. Կրծքով կերակրելուց հրաժարվելը

Այն կանայք, ովքեր կրծքով չեն կերակրում,  ավելի են ենթակա քաղցկեղի առաջացման ռիսկին։ Գիտնականների խոսքով, որքան ավելի երկար է կերակրում կինը, այնքան ավելի շատ է դա նրան պաշտպանում կրծքի քաղցկեղից։ Ավելին, եթե կերակրող կնոջ մոտ նման ռիսկ ախտորոշեն, մահվան վտանգը նվազում է 28 տոկոսով, իսկ հաջող բուժումից հետո քաղցկեղի կրկնման ռիսկը՝ 30 տոկոսով։

3. Ավելորդ կիլոգրամներ

Որքան ավելի շատ են կնոջ ավելորդ կիլոգրամները, այնքան բարձր է  դաշտանադադարից հետո կրծքի քաղցկեղի  զարգացման ռիսկը։ Եթե կինը գիրանում է 20-ից 60 տարեկան հասակում, դա նշանակալիորեն մեծացնում է ռիսկերը։ Ճիշտ է, առայժմ հայտնի չէ, թե ավելորդ ճարպային կուտակումներն ինչպես են կապված քաղցկեղի հետ, բայց կապն ակնհայտ է։

4. Ալկոհոլը

Ալկոհոլը եւս բարձրացնում է կրծքի քաղցկեղի զարգացման ռիսկը, հատկապես՝ այն կանանց մոտ, որոնք օրական 2-5 գավաթ ալկոհոլային ըմպելիք են օգտագործում։ Ինչպես ցույց է տվել 2008-ին The Journal of the American Medical Association-ում հրապարակված  հետազոտությունը, շաբաթը նույնիսկ 3-ից 6 գավաթ գինու օգտագործումը 15 տոկոսով մեծացնում է քաղցկեղի առաջացման ռիսկը։ Սպիրտի ամեն հաջորդ 10 գրամը այդ ռիսկն ավելացնում է եւս 10 տոկոսով։

5 Ուշ ընթրելը

Ուշ ընթրելը բացասաբար է ազդում կնոջ առողջության վրա եւ մեծացնում է կրծքագեղձի քաղցկեղի զարգացման վտանգը։ Դրա համար էլ մասնագետները կանանց խորհուրդ են տալիս ուտել որոշակի ժամերի եւ ընթրել քնելուց մի քանի ժամ առաջ։

6 Մինչեւ ուշ գիշեր աշխատելը

Հերթափոխով եւ մինչեւ ուշ գիշեր աշխատելը խախտում է մարդու ներքին ժամացույցի աշխատանքը եւ բարձրացնում է քաղցկեղի զարգացման վտանգը։ Ինչպես ցույց է տվել 2012 –ին Occupational and Environmental Medicine ամսագրում հրապարակված հետազոտությունը, այն կանանց մոտ, որոնք գիշերն են աշխատում, կաթնագեղձի քաղցկեղի զարգացման վտանգը 4  անգամ ավելի բարձր է, քան ցերեկը աշխատող երեկոյան հանգստացող եւ գիշերը քնող կանանց մոտ։
