Armenia Ombudsman to forward to Police a letter regarding threats to journalist and her child

Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan today posted on his Facebook page that the Office of the Human Rights Defender will forward a letter regarding the threats made against journalist Ani Gevorgyan and her child.

Gevorgyan addressed the Human Rights Defender and informed that she had received threats due to her professional activities and will call the police. She also informed that she is a target and that her and her child’s photos have been disseminated on various social networks, adding that there are offensive remarks and degrading comments.

Taking into consideration the application concerns threats against a journalist for her lawful professional activities and the journalist’s child and, in this sense, targeting, the Human Rights Defender will address a letter to the Police in order to keep the case in focus.
