«Պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանի վիճակը բարդ է: Երկար տարիներ Հայաստանի ամենակարևոր՝ պաշտպանական գերատեսչությունը ղեկավարելուց հետո, բնականաբար, նա չի կարող պարզապես գնալ-նստել տանը և կանգնել Է գործունեությունը շարունակելու դժվար ընտրության առջև։ Դատելով մամուլում հայտնված արտահոսքերից, Օհանյանը ներկայում այնքան էլ մեծ ընտրություն չունի։ Մեկ ամիս առաջ, ըստ մամուլի հրապարակումների, նա կարող էր ընտրել ԱԱԽ նախագահի կամ ԶՈԻ գլխավոր շտաբի պետի պաշտոնների միջև։ Կարող էր նաև նշանակվել ՀԱՊԿ գլխավոր քարտուղար։ Այս բոլոր առաջարկները, սակայն, Օհանյանը մերժել է։ Տևական ժամանակ մամուլը գրում է նաև Օհանյանի քաղաքական դաշտ տեղափոխվելու մասին։ Ասում են՝ նա ղեկավարելու է Վիկտոր Դալլաքյանի կուսակցությանը։ Դալլաքյանը երկու օր առաջ բավական երկիմաստ պատասխանեց այս հարցին՝ ավելի շատ ակնարկելով, որ նման բան միանգամայն հնարավոր է։ Սեյրան Օհանյանի նման կադրային զինվորականի դեպքում, կարծում ենք, ուժերը քաղաքական դաշտում փորձելը կարող է տխուր հետևանքներ ունենալ։ Ինքը՝ նախկին նախարարը, բազմիցս ասել է, որ մանկուց երազել է զինվորական դառնալ, սիրում է և մեծագույն հաճույք է ստանում իր մասնագիտությունից և աշխատանքից։ Բացի այդ, ոչ վաղ անցյալում հարցազրույցներից մեկում ասել էր, որ ապագայում իրեն որևէ կուսակցության մեջ չի պատկերացնում, իսկ եթե որևէ կուսակցության մեջ մտնի, դա կլինի ՀՀԿ-ն։ 2010 թվականի այս հարցազրույցից հետո, իհարկե, շատ բան է փոխվել, մասնավորաբար վերջին երկու տարիներին Սեյրան Օհանյանի անունը հաճախ էր շոշափվում 2018 թվականի նախագահի իշխանական թեկնածուի կոնտեքստում։ Բայց արդյոք դա այնքան լուրջ հե՞տք է թողել բարձր կարգի զինվորականի վրա, որ որոշել է Վիկտոր Դալլաքյանի հետ քաղաքական ճանապարհ անցնել։ Վիկտոր Դալլաքյանը, մեղմ ասած այն գործիչը չէ, որի կողքին հայտնվելը շահեկան լինի ցանկացած մեկի համար»,–գրում է թերթը։
