Wnews.am-ը շարունակում է ներկայացնել հայ պաշտոնյաներին եւ նրանց ընտանիքները։ Այս անգամ ներկայացնում ենք Կրթության եւ գիտության նախարար Լեւոն Մկրտչյանի ընտանիքը։
Լևոն Մկրտչյանը ծնվել է 1965թ. մարտի 18-ին Երևանում։
Կրթություն
Սովորել է Երևանի Եղիշե Չարենցի անվան թիվ 67 միջնակարգ դպրոցում
1981-1986 թթ. Երևանի պետական համալսարանի պատմության ֆակուլտետում
1986-1989 թթ.՝ նույն ֆակուլտետի ասպիրանտուրայում։ 1991 թվականին պաշտպանել է թեկնածուական ատենախոսություն՝ «Զեյթունի 1895-1896 թթ. ապստամբությունը» թեմայով։ Պատմական գիտությունների թեկնածու։
Աշխատանքային գործունեություն
1989-2008 թթ. դասավանդել է ԵՊՀ պատմության ֆակուլտետում։
1998-1999 թթ. – ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարար։
1999-2000 թթ. – ՀՀ վարչապետի խորհրդական։
2000-2001 թթ. – ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարարի տեղակալ։
2001-2003 թթ. – ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարար։
2003-2006 թթ. – ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի պատգամավոր, ԱԺ ՀՅԴ խմբակցության ղեկավար։
2006-2008 թթ. – ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարար։
2008 թ. ապրիլի 17-ին ՀՀ Նախագահի հրամանագրով վերանշանակվել է ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարարի պաշտոնում։
2008 թ. հունիսի 2-ին ՀՀ Նախագահի հրամանագրով ազատվել է ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարարի պաշտոնից։
2008 թվականից ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի անդամ է։
2016 թ. փետրվարի 24-ին ՀՀ Նախագահի հրամանագրով նշանակվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության կրթության և գիտության նախարար։
Հեղինակ է մենագրության և մի շարք գիտական հոդվածների։
Լեւոբ Մկրտրչյանը Մովսես Խորենացու անվան մեդալակիր է։
ԿԳ նախարարն ամուսնացած է եւ ունի երկու դուստր։
Նրա կինը Նատալյա Արծրունին է։
