Երեկ՝ հոկտեմբերի 8-ին, խոշոր ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել Արարատի մարզում։
Ժամը 20։40-ի սահմաններում Մխչյան գյուղի Արտաշատյան խճուղի և Խանջյան փողոցների խաչմերուկում Գեղարքունիքի մարզի Գավառ քաղաքի բնակիչ 26-ամյա Գևորգ Թոռչյանը իր վարած Ford մակնիշի 80 AM 707 համարանիշի քարշակ, որի վրա եղել է Գեղարքունիքի մարզի Գավառ քաղաքի բնակիչ 62-ամյա Հակոբ Միրիբյանին պատկանող ВАЗ 2106 մակնիշի 34 AN 677 համարնիշի ավտոմեքենան, բախվել է Երևան քաղաքի Նորագավիթ 1-ին փողոցի բնակիչ 24-ամյա Սպարտակ Բազեյանի վարած ВАЗ 21099 համարանիշի ավտոմեքենային, վերջինը բախվել է նաև էլեկտրասյանը։
Ըստ նախնական տեղեկությունների էլեկտրական հոսանքի լարերը միացել են իրար և առաջացել է կայծ, որից բռնկվել է Էլեկտրասյան վրայի արագիլների բույնը և ընկնելով մեքենաների վրա առաջացել է հրդեհ, ինչի հետևանքով 3 մեքենաներն էլ վերծվել են մոխրակույտի։ Ինչպես դեպքի վայրից հայտնում է ֆոտոլրագրող Գագիկ Շամշյանը, վթարի հետևանքով ըստ նախնական տեղեկությունների բարեբախտաբար զոհեր և վիրավորներ չկան։
Դեպքի վայր են ժամանել Ճանապարհային ոստիկանության 2-րդ սպայական գումարտակի 1-ին վաշտի 2-րդ դասակի աշխատակիցները՝ դասակի հրամանատար Սանասար Հարությունյանի գլխավորությամբ։ Դեպքի վայր են ժամանել նաև ՀՀ Արտակարգ իրավիճակների նախարարության փրկարար ծառայության Արտաշատի փրկարարական ջոկատը՝ 2 մարտական հաշվարկով, ովքեր մարել են մոխրակույտի վերածված մեքենաների հրդեհը։ Ֆոտոլրագրողը հայտնում է նաև, որ առաջացած հրդեհից վնասվել է նաև Մխչյան գյուղի բնակիչ Ռոբերտ Մաթևոսյանին պատկանող մթերային խանութը։
Դեպքի վայրում հավաքվածները ասում էին, որ այս խաչմերուկում հաճախ են լինում վթարներ և խնդրում են պատկան մարմիններին համապատասխան միջոցներ ձեռնարկել դրանցից խուսափելու համար, իսկ եթե պատկան մարմինները հետևություն չանեն, ապա վթարների պակաս չի լինի և ցավոք որոշ վթարներ էլ ունենում են ողբերգական ավարտ։
Ծանուցում. Ենթադրյալ հանցանքի մեջ կասկածվողը կամ մեղադրվողը համարվում է անմեղ, քանի դեռ նրա մեղավորությունն ապացուցված չէ ՀՀ քրեական դատավարության օրենսգրքով սահմանված կարգով` դատարանի` օրինական ուժի մեջ մտած դատավճռով:
