Ներկայացնում ենք թերթի խմբագրականից մի հատված.

«Երեկ ինձ փողոցում «բռնացրեց» մի քաղաքացի և իր բողոքը հայտնեց հետևյալ առիթով։ Նորությունների թողարկման ժամանակ գործընկերներիցս մեկը, պատմելով այն մասին, որ ինչ-որ տեղ առյուծը կամ վագրը հարձակվել է մի աղջկա վրա, այդ լուրը սկսել էր հետևյալ նախաբանով՝ «այժմ մի ցավալի միջադեպի մասին»։ «Դա ի՞նչ մի ցավալի միջադեպ ա, եթե զոհը հայ չի,– դժգոհում էր իմ զրուցակիցը,– պետք է մի քիչ ազգասեր լինել»։

Այսպիսով, ազգասիրությունն, ըստ իմ զրուցակցի, ուրիշ ազգի մարդկանց ցավը չզգալն է առանձնացնելով ամբողջ մարդկությունից ինչ-որ մի հատված, որի համար պետք է ցավ ապրել և անտարբեր լինելով մնացածի նկատմամբ։ Կարելի է որպես չափանիշ ընդունել ոչ միայն ազգային տարբերությունները, այլև կրոնական, սոցիալական, կուսակցական, անձնական նախասիրությունները՝ իմ հավատակիցները, իմ քաղաքական թիմը, իմ հայրենակցական կամ սոցիալական խումբը։ Ընդհուպ մինչև՝ «ես ընդունակ եմ գզալ միայն ի՛մ ցավը, իսկ մնացածն ինձ չեն հետաքրքրում»։ Աշխարհից մեկուսանալու ամենակարճ ճանապարհն է։

Հիմա, երբ Եվրոպա են ներթափանցել հարյուր հազարավոր փախստականներ Միջին Արևելքից, տեղացիների վերաբերմունբը նույնպես երկակի է։ Մի կողմից՝ օգնել, ապաստան տալ, կերակրել, փրկել մարդկանց կյանքը, մյուս կողմից՝ «Եկան, լցվեցին՝ իրենց խորթ բարքերով, նրանցից կեսը հաստատ ահաբեկիչ է» և այլն։ «Ժամանակակից զանգվածները,– դեոևս նախորդ դարի կեսերին գրում էր Ալբերտ Շվեյցերը,– պահանջում են սահմանազատել ազգային հայացքները բանականության և բարոյականության ազդեցություններից՝ համարելով դա նվիրական զգացմանքները չաղճատելու ամենաճիշտ միջոցը»։ Հիրավի, փակաղային ճանապարհ է»,–գրում է թերթի խմբագիրը։
