ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն սեպտեմբերի 30-ին ընդունել է Ուրուգվայի Արևելյան Հանրապետության համալսարանի ռեկտոր Ռոբերտո Մարկարյանին:
Ողջունելով հյուրին մեր երկրում՝ Հանրապետության Նախագահը նշել է, որ մեծ հպարտություն է, որ բարեկամ Ուրուգվայի կարևորագույն կրթական հաստատություններից մեկը ղեկավարում է մեր հայրենակիցը, ով նաև իր տեսանելի ավանդն է ներդրել այդ երկրի կրթական համակարգի զարգացման գործում և մեծ հարգանք է վայելում Ուրուգվայում:
Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցները մտքեր են փոխանակել կրթության ոլորտում հայ-ուրուգվայական համագործակցությունը զարգացնելու հնարավորությունների և հեռանկարի մասին: Խոսելով Ռոբերտո Մարկարյանի այցի շրջանակներում Երևանի պետական համալսարանի և Ուրուգվայի Արևելյան Հանրապետության համալսարանի միջև հոկտեմբերի 3-ին ստորագրվելիք համագործակցության համաձայնագրի մասին՝ ՀՀ Նախագահը և Ուրուգվայի Ա րևելյան համալսարանի ռեկտորը երկուստեք կարևորել են Հայաստանի և Ուրուգվայի միջև կրթական ոլորտում ձևավորվող արդյունավետ համագործակցությունը, հույս հայտնելով, որ այն խթան կհանդիսանա երկու երկրների կրթական համակարգերի հետագա փոխգործակցության և փոխանակման ծրագրերի համար:
Անդրադառնալով փոխադարձ հարգանքի ու վստահության վրա հիմնված հայ-ուրուգվայական բարեկամական հարաբերություններին՝ զրուցակիցները համակարծիք են եղել, որ միջպետական կապերի սերտացման և երկու երկրների միջև փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող ոլորտներում համագործակցության ակտիվացման գործում մեծապես կարևոր է Ուրուգվայի հայ համայնքի դերը:
Նախագահը ջերմությամբ է հիշել 2014թ. հուլիսին Ուրուգվայ կատարած իր այցը և երկրի բարձր ղեկավարության հետ ունեցած հանդիպումներն ու ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները:
Սերժ Սարգսյանն ընդգծել է, որ հայ ժողովուրդը երախտագիտությամբ է հիշում և բարձր է գնահատում Ուրուգվայի կողմից ավելի քան 50 տարի առաջ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն առաջինը ճանաչելու փաստը և շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Ուրուգվայի կառավարությանն ու ժողովրդին Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը Ուրուգվայում պետական մակարդակով նշելու համար:
Ռեկտոր Ռոբերտո Մարկարյանը նշել է, թե հետաքրքրված է նաև Հայաստանի հանրակրթական դպրոցներում շախմատի դասավանդման մեթոդով և ցանկություն ունի հայկական փորձը կիրառել Ուրուգվայի դպրոցներում, որի նպատակով վաղը Ծաղկաձորում կայանալիք միջազգային կոնֆերանսի շրջանակներում հանդիպում է ունենալու հայ շախմատիստների հետ:
