Ինչպես տեղեկանում ենք «Դատալեքս» տեղեկատվական համակարգից Համլետ Հակոբյանին մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել այն բանի համար, որ նա 2014թ. սեպտեմբերի 10-ին, Աբովյան քաղաքի բնակչուհի Ռայիսա Մարգարյանին ցանկացել է սպանել: Նա իր ընկերոջ՝ Վարդան Բաբայանի հետ, կյանքից զրկելու ու գույք հափշտակելու հարցի շուրջ նախնական համաձայնության գալով գնացել են Ռ.Մարգարյանին պատկանող բնակարանի շքամուտք: Վերջինիս կողմից բնակարանի դուռը բացելուց հետո ներս են մտել՝ պահանջելով իրենց տալ գումար և ոսկեղեն:
Այդ ընթացքում Հ. Հակոբյանը բռունցքով հարվածել է Ռ. Մարգարյանի գլխի ծոծրակային շրջանին, այնուհետև Վ. Բաբայանն իր մոտ եղած դանակի բռնակի հետնամասով հարվածներ է հասցրել Ռ. Մարգարյանի գլխին: Ռ. Մարգարյանը, մի պահ օգտվելով իրեն անտեսելու իրավիճակից, օգնություն է կանչել: Հ. Հակոբյանն անմիջապես փակել է նրա բերանը, քարշ տալով տարել է լոգարան գցել կիսով չափ ջրով լոգարանակոնքի մեջ, այնուհետև Վ. Բաբայանի ձեռքից վերցնելով նշված դանակը սկսել է բռնակով հարվածել Ռ.Մարգարյանի գլխին:
Այնուհետև, Հ. Հակոբյանը և Վ. Բաբայանը սրբիչը փաթաթելով Ռ. Մարգարյանի պարանոցին խեղդամահ անելով սպանել են նրան` հափշտակելով 12.000 ՀՀ մետաղա դրամ, 200.000 ՀՀ թղթադրամ կանխիկ գումար և 632.000 ՀՀ դրամ արժողությամբ ոսկյա զարդեր, ապա հեռացել են:
Դատարանն ուսումնասիրելով փաստերը որոշեց Համլետ Հակոբյանին և Վարդան Բաբայանին մեղավոր ճանաչել ՀՀ քրեական օրենսգրքի 104 հոդվածի 2-րդ մասի 7-րդ և 8-րդ կետերով և նշանակել պատիժ՝ ազատազրկման 16 /տասնվեց/ տարի ժամկետով:
