«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Պարզվում է` կիրակի օրը ոչ այնքան ինտրիգային են եղել Աբովյանի ընտրությունները, որքան` Ալավերդու: Ի դեպ, իշխանություններին մինչ այդ հաջողվել էր բոլորի ուշադրությունը շեղել Ալավերդու ընտրություններից, ուր պայքարն էլ ավելի թեժ է եղել, քան Աբովյանում: Ընդ որում, սկզբում ՀՀԿ-ն որոշում կայացրած չի եղել, թե ում է սատարելու այնտեղ. երկուսն էլ իրենց տղերքն են համարվել, սակայն ՀՀԿ մարզային խորհուրդը` մարզպետ Արթուր Նալբանդյանի գլխավորությամբ, որոշել է, որ պետք է սատարել Կարեն Փարեմուզյանին:
ՀՀԿ ԳՄ-ն ոչ գմում, ոչ էլ դմում էր մինչեւ նախավերջին նիստը, վերջին նիստում որոշում է ընդունվել, որ պետք է էդ կողմերում «կռված» Էդուարդ Շարմազանովին ուղարկել Ալավերդի` սատարելու մարզպետի ու ՀՀԿ-ի թեկնածուին, թե չէ կրքերը կարող է «տան-անցնեն Աբովյանից»:
Բանն այն է, որ Կարեն Փարեմուզյանի հակընդդեմ թեկնածու Արթուր Աբգարյանը, նրա եղբայր Տարոնը, հայրը Ալավերդում շատ հայտնի բիզնեսմեններ են: Դեռ վաթսունական թվականներից նրանց հայրը եղել է Ալավերդու քարի հանքի տնօրենը, հետո այն սեփականաշնորհել են, նրանց է պատկանում նաեւ վերջին շրջանում հայտնաբերված լալվարի քարի բիզնեսը, ինչպես նաեւ ֆելզիտի արտադրությունը: Աբգարյանները նաեւ լուրջ սատարում ունեին իշխանական կուլիսներում եւ միանշանակ համոզված էին, որ հաղթանակն իրենցն է լինելու, մանավանդ որ նրանց էր սատարում նաեւ Վալերի Մեջլումյանը:
Սակայն, մեր տեղեկություններով, Սերժ Սարգսյանը կանչել է Մեջլումյանին եւ հորդորել չխառնվել ընտրություններին, իրեն չեզոք պահել, զուգահեռաբար էլ Ալավերդի է ուղարկել Էդուարդ Շարմազանովին, որպես «սրսուռ» ալավերդցի, որպեսզի ՀՀԿ-ական «կանտրոլի» տակ պահի «շարժերը», «կաղնի» մարզպետի կողքին, որ գործընթացները հունից դուրս չգան, ամեն ինչ անցնի «ցիվիլ»:
