 Հայաստանի անկախության 25-ամյակին նվիրված զորահանդեսն առաջին հերթին հակառակորդին զսպելու ուղերձ էր: Այս մասին  «Արմենպրես»-ի մամուլի սրահում հրավիրված ասուլիսում նշեցԿովկասի ինստիտուտի տնօրեն Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանը:

«Այստեղ ավելի շատ զսպելու գործոն կա: Ցույց է տրվում Ադրբեջանին, որ լայնամասշտաբ պատերազմ սկսելը շատ լուրջ ռիսկեր է պարունակում: Ի վերջո, բոլորս էլ հասկանում ենք «Իսկանդերի» նշանակությունը, և դա ամեն առիթով կիրառելու զինատեսակ չէ, սակայն եթե Ադրբեջանը փորձի լայնամասշտաբ գործողություններ սկսել, ապա ակնհայտ է, որ ցավոտ հակահարված կստանա»,-ասաց Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանը:

Քաղաքագետը նշեց, որ այդ կարևոր զինատեսակների ցուցադրությունն ամենևին չի նշանակում, թե սահմանին կրակոցները կդադարեն, դիվերսիոն փորձեր չեն լինի: Նույնիսկ հավանական է, որ ապրիլյան դեպքերը կրկնվեն, սակայն, Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանի կարծիքով, հայկական զինուժի կողմից նման կարևոր զինատեսակների ձեռքբերումը հենց կզսպի, որ նման գործողությունները լայնամասշտաբ բնույթ չստանան:

Անդրադառնալով Ադրբեջանի արձագանքին` քաղաքագետը նշեց, որ, բնական է, կան անհիմն մեկնաբանություններ, թե այդ զինատեսակները Հայաստանինը չեն, սակայն փաստն այն է, որ զորահանդեսն իր ազդեցությունը թողել է:

Ինչ վերաբերում է Ռուսաստանի կողմից Հայաստանին «Իսկանդեր» վաճառելու քայլին և դրա ազդեցությանը ռուս-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունների վրա, ապա քաղաքագետը նշեց, որ ակնհայտ է` Ադրբեջանը դժգոհ է:

«Բնական է, որ պետք է դժգոհ լիներ, և հասկանալի է, որ ադրբեջանական լոբբին Մոսկվայում աշխատել է, որ այդ գործարքը չկայանա, սակայն տեսնում ենք, որ այն իրողություն է: Ռուսաստանի սահմաններից դուրս առաջին անգամ է «Իսկանդեր» վաճառվում: Իսկ թե ինչու հենց Հայաստանին, որովհետև, նախ մեր երկիրը դրա կարիքն ունի, երկրորդ՝ Ռուսաստանն այստեղ ունի ռազմաբազա և բարձր մակարդակի համագործակցություն պաշտոնական Երևանի հետ»,-ասաց քաղաքագետը:
