ՄԱԿ-ի անդամ շուրջ 50 երկրներ հաջորդ տարվա ընթացքում կընդունեն մոտավորապես 360 հազար փախստականների: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման սեպտեմբերի 20-ին հայտարարել Է ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայանում Վաշինգտոնի կողմից կազմակերպված գագաթնաժողովում, որը նվիրված Էր փախստկանների խնդիրներին:

«Մենք միասին (գագաթնաժողովին մասնակցած շուրջ 50 երկրներ) պատրաստվում ենք 360 հազարի հասցնել այն փախստականների թիվը, որոնց կընդունենք հաջորդ տարի»,- նշել Է նա: Այդուհանդերձ պետության ղեկավարն ընդգծել Է, որ նույնիսկ այդ ջանքերը բավարար չեն:

Օբաման պատմել Է, որ ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայանում հանդիպել Է ամերիկյան 51 ընկերությունների ներկայացուցիչների հետ, որոնք խոստացել են ավելի քան 650 մլն դոլար հատկացնել միգրացիոն ճգնաժամը կարգավորելու համար: Սպիտակ տան ղեկավարը հավելել Է, որ առաջիկա ֆինանսական տարում, որը երկրում սկսվում Է հոկտեմբերի 1-ին, ԱՄՆ-ն ամբողջ աշխարհից կընդունի 110 հազար փախստականների: Այս տարի, Օբամայի խոսքով, Միացյալ Նահանգներ են ժամանել 85 հազար փախստականներ, որոնցից 10 հազարը սիրիացիներ են:  

Գագաթնաժողովի մասնակիցների համատեղ հայտարարութան մեջ նշվում Է, որ 32 երկրներ այս տարի մոտավորապես 4,5 մլրդ դոլար են հատկացրել ՄԱԿ-ին ու միջազգային հումանիտար կազմակերպություններին փախստականների խնդիրները լուծելու համար, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
