Սիրիայի հարցի հետ կապված նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը շատ կարևոր հայտարարություն է արել: Հայաստանը Սիրիայի հարցում պետք է ակտիվ օգտագործի դիվանագիտական լծակները: Այս մասին Արմենպրեսի մամուլի սրահում հրավիրված ասուլիսին նշեց արաբագետ Արմեն Պետրոսյանը` անդրադառնալով  ԱՊՀ մասնակից պետությունների ղեկավարների խորհրդի նեղ կազմով նիստի ժամանակ հնչած նախագահի ելույթին:

«Դա խոսում է այն մասին, որ Հայաստանն ամենաբարձր մակարդակով հայտարարում է, որ հետևում է գործընթացներին և Սիրիայի հակամարտությամբ պայմանավորված մեր քաղաքականության մեջ առաջնահերթ է հայկական համայնքի ճակատագիրը, տեղի հայերին աջակցություն հասցնելու ուղիների փնտրտուքը: Այս համատեքստում նախագահը հայկական կողմի ներգրավվածության, համագործակցության մասին  խոսեց: Եթե հայտարարությունից հետո արդեն գործնական քայլեր լինեն, ապա մենք ականատես կլինենք ինչպես հումանիտար նպատակներով ցուցաբերվելիք օգնությունը հայ համայնքին տրամադրելու գործընթացին, այնպես էլ անվտանգության հարցում երաշխիքներ ստանալուն` համագործակցելով, ինչպես Ռուսաստանի, այնպես էլ Իրանի հետ: Քանի որ Հալեպում Իրանը բավական ակտիվ է»,-ասաց Արմեն Պետրոսյանը:

Արաբագետ Սարգիս Գրիգորյանի խոսքով, սիրիական հակամարտության հարցի հետ կապված հայկական համայնքն առանձնացել է կառուցողական մոտեցմամբ և միշտ կողմնակից է եղել, որ հակամարտությունը տեղափոխվի քաղաքական լուծման կամ բանավեճի փուլ: Այս համատեքստում, ըստ նրա, հայկական համայնքը կարող է իր ներդրումն ունենալ, սա նաև բարձրացնում է հայկական համայնքի կշիռը:

ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը սեպտեմբերի 16-ին ելույթ է ունեցել ԱՊՀ մասնակից պետությունների ղեկավարների խորհրդի նեղ կազմով նիստի ժամանակ։ Նա նշել է, որ Սիրիայում հրադադարի վերաբերյալ ռուս-ամերիկյան վերջին պայմանավորվածությունները կստեղծեն նախադրյալներ այդ արյունալի հակամարտության տևական կարգավորման համար: Նախագահը ողջունել է ԱՊՀ գործընկեր Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության հետևողական ջանքերը, որոնք ուղղված են Սիրիայում հումանիտար աղետի հետագա խորացման կանխարգելմանը: Նա ընդգծել է, որ քննարկվում է Հայաստանի և Սիրիայում հայկական համայնքի ներգրավման հնարավորություններն այդ գործընթացներում:
