Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիեւը բողոքել է դրսից ճնշման փորձերից:
Ելույթ ունենալով Բաքվում միջնակարգ դպրոցի նոր շենքի բացման արարողությանը` Ադրբեջանի նախագահը բողոքել է, որ «քիչ չեն նրանք, ովքեր ցանկանում են միջամտել մեր գործերին»:
«Այս տարիների ընթացքում տարբեր ժամանակահատվածներում մեր գործերին միջամտածները սեփական նպատակներն են հետապնդել: Նրանց նպատակները չեն համընկնում մերի հետ: Մեր նպատակն անկախությունն է, ազատությունը, ժողովրդի բարգավաճումը: Որոշ օտարերկրյա շրջանակների նպատակները լիովին այլ են` թելադրել մեզ, Ադրբեջանը գործիքի վերածել, ջարդել ադրբեջանական ժողովրդի կամքը, իսկ հետո Ադրբեջանի նման հզոր երկիրն օգտագործել սեփական նպատակների համար: Իսկ դա կարող է մեզ համար աղետ դառնալ: Մենք տեսնում ենք այլ երկրների փորձը, նրանց ոչ վաղ պատմությունը: Այն երկրներին, որոնք արտասահմանից են կառավարվում, ավերում են: Այն երկրները, որոնք դիմադրություն չեն ցուցաբերում արտաքին բացասական ազդեցությանը, այդ երկրներին, նրանց ժողովուրդներին ոչնչացնում են», - ասել է նա:
Հիշեցնենք, որ վերջերս Washington Post-ում քննադատական հոդվածին ի պատասխան, Ադրբեջանն ԱՄՆ-ում դեսպանին կանչել էր խորհրդակցության համար: Այսօր ԱՄՆ-ի կոնգրեսում լսումներ են նախատեսված Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների հետ կապված իրավիճակի վերաբերյալ:
