 Աշխատանքային այցով Ուրուգվայում գտնվող ՀՀ ԱԺ փոխնախագահ, Հայաստան-Ուրուգվայ պատգամավորական բարեկամական խմբի ղեկավար Էդուարդ Շարմազանովի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը, որի կազմում են ԱԺ պատգամավորներ Սուքիաս Ավետիսյանը եւ Միքայել Մանուկյանը, սեպտեմբերի 7-ին հանդիպում է ունեցել Ուրուգվայի Արեւելյան Հանրապետության փոխնախագահ, Սենատի նախագահ Ռաուլ Սենդիկի հետ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես» -ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԺ հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Կողմերը կարեւորել են երկու երկրների խորհրդարանների միջեւ համագործակցության հետագա ընդլայնումն ու զարգացումը: Երկուստեք նշվել է, որ չնայած մեծ հեռավորությանը՝ Հայաստանն ու Ուրուգվայը բարեկամ երկրներ են:

ԱԺ փոխնախագահը գոհունակությամբ նշել է, որ Ուրուգվայն աշխարհում առաջին երկիրն էր, որը, 1965 թվականին ճանաչելով Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, ցրեց թուրքական ժխտողականության խավարը: «Մենք պետք է միասնաբար պայքարենք ընդդեմ թուրքական ժխտողականության: Թուրքիան ի վերջո պետք է առերեսվի սեփական պատմությանը»,-ընդգծել է Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը: Ուրուգվայի փոխնախագահ Ռաուլ Սենդիկն իր հերթին կարեւորել է միջազգային հանրության կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչումն ու դատապարտումը:

Կողմերն անդրադարձել են նաեւ ԼՂ հակամարտության կարգավորման գործընթացին: Այս համատեքստում ԱԺ փոխնախագահը մասնավորապես նշել է. «Ադրբեջանը պետք է հարգի արցախահայության ինքնորոշման իրավունքի ամբողջական իրացման սկզբունքը: Բանակցային գործընթացում միակ խոչընդոտ ստեղծողն Ադրբեջանն է, որը դրսեւորում է անթույլատրելի վարքագիծ»: Հայկական պատվիրակության անդամներ Սուքիաս Ավետիսյանն ու Միքայել Մանուկյանն էլ ընդգծել են, որ Ադրբեջանը պատրաստ չէ երկխոսության:

Ռաուլ Սենդիկն իր հերթին նշել է, որ Ուրուգվայը սատարում է ԼՂ հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորմանը եւ դեմ է հիմնախնդրի ռազմական ճանապարհով լուծման ցանկացած փորձի:
