Ֆիլիպինների նախագահ Ռոդրիգո Դուտերտեն հանդես Է եկել հայտարարությամբ, որում ափսոսանք Է հայտնում իր արտահայտությունների համար, որոնք «մեկնաբանվել են որպես անձնական հարձակում» ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբամայի վրա: Ինչպես հայտնել Է CNN-ը՝ հղում անելով հայտարարության տեքստին, կողմերը պայմանավորվել են հանդիպումն անցկացնել ավելի ուշ:

«Մենք անպայմանորեն կհարթենք ազգային գերակայություններից ու պատկերացումներից բխող բոլոր հակասությունները»,-ասված Է հայտարարության մեջ:

Ինչպես ավելի վաղ հաղորդվել Է, Սպիտակ տունը չեղյալ Է հայտարարել ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբամայի հանդիպումը Ֆիլիպինների ղեկավար Ռոդրիգո Դուտերտեի հետ: Որոշումն ընդունվել Է այն բանից հետո, երբ Դուտերտեն Օբամայի հասցեին վիրավորական արտահայտություններ Է արել թմրավաճառների նկատմամբ Ֆիլիպինների իշխանությունների քաղաքականության քննադատության համար:

Ենթադրվում Էր, որ երկու պետությունների ղեկավարներն այս շաբաթ կհանդիպեն Լաոսում, ուր Օբաման կժամանի Հարավարեւելյան Ասիայի երկրների ղեկավարների գագաթնաժողովին:

Դուտերտեի հետ հանդիպման փոխարեն Օբաման կզրուցի Հարավային Կորեայի նախագահ Պակ Կըն Հեի հետ:

Սեպտեմբերի 4-ին Դուտերտեն Օբամային անվանել Է պոռնիկի որդի եւ նրան խորհուրդ Է տվել մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության խրատներով մեջ չընկնել: «Դու պետք Է հարգանք դրսեւորես: Հարցերով ու հայտարարություններով վրա տալու կարիք չկա: Պոռնիկի որդի, ես գլխիդ նզովք կթափեմ գագաթնաժողովին»,- հայտարարել Է նա: Դրանց հետո Օբաման կասկած Է հայտնել հանդիպման նպատակահարմարության հարցում, հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:
