Արևմուտքի կանանց շրջանում մինչև երեխայի ծնվելը նրա համար իրեր գնելը սովորական երևույթ է: Այլ է, սակայն, չինուհիների դեպքում: Չինաստանում համարվում է, որ «դատարկ» մանկասայլակը հաջողությունը խլում է:

Թռչող հոլանդացու լեգենդի մասին գիտեն բոլորը, կան նաև այնպիսիք, ովքեր սրբորեն հավատում են դրան: «Թռչող հոլանդացին»` լեգենդ է նավ-ուրվականի մասին, որ մոլորվել է օվկիանոսում` 17-րդ դարից: Նա չի կարողանում վերադառնալ նավահանգիստ. այդ պատճառով էլ դատապարտված է մշտական դեգերումների:

Բազմաթիվ ռումինացիներ հավատում են, որ եթե իրենց քիթը քոր է գալիս, ապա իրենց ինչ-որ մեկը ցանկանում է համբուրել: Թեպետ, հնարավոր է` դա հարբուխի նշան է:

Որևէ փաստաթղթով ամրագրված չէ, սակայն չգրված մի օրենքով` բազմաթիվ կորեացիներ հավատում են, որ փակ սենյակում` օդափոխիչը միացված քնելու դեպքում, կարելի է մահանալ: Այս լեգենդը լայնորեն տարածված է Հարավային Կորեայի քաղաքներում:
