Գերմանիայի կառավարությունը հայտարարում է, որ իրեն հեռու չի պահում Բունդեսթագում ընդունված Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձևից, միաժամանակ նշելով, որ բանաձևը իրավական պարտադիր ուժ չունի:

Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը իր կուսակցության խորհրդարանական առաջնորդների հետ հանդիպմանը հայտարարել է, որ իրեն հեռավորության վրա չի պահում Բունդեսթագում ընդունված Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող բանաձևից, որի պատճառով լարվածություն առաջացավ Թուրքիայի հետ հարաբերություններում: Մերկելի այս հայտարարության մասին հայտնել են հանդիպման մասնակիցները:

Խորհրդարանում քրիստոնեա-դեմոկրատական խմբակցության ղեկավար Վոլքեր Կաուդերը կուսակիցների հետ հանդիպմանը հայտնել է, որ ինքն այդ թեմայով զրուցել է Մերկելի հետ և Գերմանիայի կանցլերը շեշտել է իր դիրքորոշումը:

«Ռոյթերզ»-ի փոխանցմամբ, Կաուդերը նաև հայտնել է, որ մինչև Բունդեսթագի քվեարկությունը ներկուսակցական հավաքում Անգելա Մերկելը կողմ է քվեարկել բանաձևին, չնայած Բունդեսթագի հունիսի սկզբին տեղի ունեցած քվեարկությանը նա չի մասնակցել: Քվեարկությանը չէին մասնակցել նաև արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ֆրանկ-Վալտեր Շտայնմայերը և էկոնոմիկայի նախարար Սիգմար Գաբրիելը: Շտայնմայերը սոցիալ-դեմոկրատական կուսակցության անդամ է, Գերմանիայում իշխող դաշինքի գործընկերը:
