Թուրքիայի վարչապետ Բինալի Յըլդըրըմը հայտարարել է, որ Սիրիայում թուրք-ամերիկյան գործողությունը շարունակվելու են այնքան ժամանակ մինչեւ Քրդստանի աշխատավորական կուսակցության (PKK) անդամները հետ չվերադառնան Եփրատի արեւելյան ափում գտնվող իրենց նախկին դիրքերը:

Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը թուրքական զորամիավորումների Սիրիա ներխուժման վերաբերյալ հայտարարել էր, որ այդ գործողությունն ուղղված է «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական խմբավորման, ինչպես նաեւ PKK-ի դեմ, որի հաջողությունները Սիրիայի հյուսիսում տագնապեցրել են Թուրքիային:
Միջազգային ԶԼՄ-ների համաձայն` օգոստոսի 24-ին Թուրքիա այցելած ԱՄՆ-ի փոխնախագահ Ջո Բայդենը սիրիացի քրդերից պահանջել է Եփրատ գետի արեւմտյան ափից վերադառնալ արեւելյան ափ: Նա զգուշացրել է, որ եթե քրդական ուժերը այդ քայլը չկատարեն, ապա այսուհետեւ ԱՄՆ-ը ոչ մի օգնություն չի ցուցաբերի նրանց:
