«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «ՀՀ ոստիկանության աշխատանքից գոհ է ոչ միայն ոստիկանապետ Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանը, Հայաստանում ԵԱՀԿ գրասենյակը, այլեւ հենց Սերժ Սարգսյանը: Եւ օգոստոսի 1-ին Սարգսյանի կողմից հնչեցված հրապարակային շնորհակալությունը, պարզվում է, գոհունակության միակ ժեստը չէ, որ երկրի ղեկավարն արել է ՀՀ ոստիկանության նկատմամբ:
ՀՀ նախագահի նստավայրին մոտ կանգնած «Ժողովուրդ»-ի աղբյուրները հայտնեցին, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանը ՀՀ ոստիկանապետ Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանին հասկացրել է, որ նա կշարունակի պաշտոնավարել: «Մենք դեռ միասին պետք է ընտրություններ կազմակերպենք». աշխատանքը շարունակելու մոտավորապես այսպիսի բովանդակությամբ ակնարկ է արել Սերժ Սարգսյանը Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանին: Ինչը նշանակում է, որ մինչեւ 2017 թվականի ապրիլին կայանալիք խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ ՀՀ ոստիկանապետ կմնա Վլադիմիր Գասպարյանը:
«Ժողովուրդ»-ը փորձեց լուրը ճշտել ՀՀ ոստիկանության հասարակայնության հետ կապի եւ լրատվության վարչության պետ Աշոտ Ահարոնյանից, սակայն նա հրաժարվեց որեւէ կերպ մեկնաբանել տեղեկությունը: Իսկ Սերժ Սարգսյանի մամուլի քարտուղարի հետ կապ հաստատել չհաջողվեց. ինչպես հայտնի է՝ Ս. Սարգսյանն այս օրերին արտերկրում վայելում է ամառային հանգիստը»:
