Անկախության հռչակագրի ընդունմամբ մենք ճանապարհ ընկանք երազանքի հետևից, մեկ տարի անց անկախության հանրաքվեով այդ երազանքը կյանք ստացավ: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ` Հայաստանի անկախության Հռչակագրի 26-րդ տարեդարձի առթիվ այսպես արտահայտվեց ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանը: Քաղաքական, հասարակական գործիչները օգոստոսի 23-ին փողային նվագախմբի հնչյունների ներքո հավաքվել էին անկախության Հռչակագրի հուշատախտակի մոտ, որն իր տեղը դեռևս 2004-ից գտել է Մելիք Ադամյան 1 հասցեում գտնվող շենքի պատին:«Մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրն ունի երազանք, բայց որպես ժողովուրդ մենք ունենք միասնական երազանք: 26 տարի առաջ ընդունած Հայաստանի անկախության հռչակագրով ՀՀ խորհրդարանն ազդարարեց անկախ պետության հաստատման գործընթացի սկիզբը` նոր բովանդակություն տալով հայոց պատմությանը: Այսօր առաջ ենք շարժվում որպես անկախ պետությու ն ունեցող ու սեփական արժեհամակարգը համընդհանուր արժեքների հետ համադրող երկիր, որը պարտավոր է ապագայում լինել ավելի ժողովրդավար, ավելի պատասխանատու և հոգատար իր քաղաքացիների հանդեպ, այնպես, ինչպես քաղաքացիներն են պարտավոր լինել իրենց երկրի հանդեպ»,-ասաց ԱԺ նախագահը:

ԱԺ փոխխոսնակ Հերմինե Նաղդալյանն էլ հույս հայտնեց, որ հայկական պետականության հիմքերը գնալով ամրանալու են, Հայաստանը, որպես անկախ պետություն, հզորանալու է ու նմանվելու այն երազանքին, որն ունեցել են անկախության սերունդն ու նրանց նախնիները: «Դրա համար բոլորի ջանքերն են հարկավոր, յուրաքանչյուր քաղաքացու… Անկախ պետականության համար մենք երազել ենք, ջանքեր ենք գործադրել, զոհեր տվել, արյուն ենք թափել: Ամենակարևորը պիտի արժևորենք, սիրենք մեր պետությունը և հասկանանք, որ սա անանցանելի արժեք է, այն արժեք է ինքնին ու յուրաքանչյուր ք աղաքացու համար»,-ասաց ԱԺ փոխխոսնակը:

Նաղդալյանի խոսքով` անկախության 25-րդ ամյակի հրաշալի նվերներ էին Ռիոյի օլիմպիական խաղերում հայ մարզիկների տարած հաղթանակները:

1990 թվականի օգոստոսի 23-ին դեռևս Խորհրդային Հայաստանի Գերագույն խորհուրդն ընդունել է անկախության մասին Հռչակագիրը:
