2007թվականից՝ մադրիդյան սկզբունքների ի հայտ գալուց հետո Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորման բանակցային գործընթացում ոչ մի նոր բան տեղի չի ունեցել: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` օգոստոսի 23-ին հրավիրված մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ նման կարծիք հայտնեց քաղաքագետ Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանը:

«2007 թվականից, երբ  ի հայտ եկան մադրիդյան սկզբունքները ԼՂ բանակցային գործում ինչ-որ նոր բան փոխվե՞ց, իհարկե՝ ոչ: Առաջարկները չեն փոխվել, այդ ամենը մադրիդյան սկզբունքների տարատեսակներ են: Երբևէ խոսք չի եղել այն մասին, որ Ադրբեջանը կճանաչի ԼՂ-ն, իսկ մենք ոչ մի սանտիմետր հող չենք տա, բանակցային սեղանին երբեք նման փաստաթուղթ կամ նման պայմանավորվածություն չի եղել»,- նշեց քաղաքագետը:

Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանի կարծիքով`  այժմ բանակցություններ են ընթանում ավելի շատ սահմանագծում խաղաղության պահպանման և լարվածության բացառման ուղղությամբ:

Քաղաքագետը նկատեց, որ շրջաննների զիջումների վերաբերյալ տարբեր թվեր են նշվում, ինչի մասին ապրիլյան իրադարձություններից հետո մտածելը բարդ է և անիրատեսական: 

«Հայաստանն ու Ադրբեջանը փոխզիջումների գնալուն պատրաստ չեն: Հայաստանում դրա մասին հնարավոր է հանարայնորեն խոսել, իսկ Ադրբեջանում նույնիսկ խոսել չի կարելի: Նրանց մոտ խոսում են փակ դռների հետևում: Իսկ բաց խոսել այն մասին, որ պատրաստ են զիջումների նրանք չեն կարողանում»,- ասաց նա:

Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանը դժվարացավ պատասխանել, թե ապրիլ ամսից հետո զինադադարի խախտման դեպքերի պակասման միտումը կշարունակվի արդյոք, թե ոչ:

Քաղաքագետը նաև նկատեց, որ Ադրբեջանը հակված չէ անգամ վերջին հանդիպումներում ձեռքբերված պայմանավորվածությունը պահպանելուն, մասնավորապես սահմանային գոտում վերահսկողության մեխանիզմների հաստատման հարցում։ Նրա խոսքով՝ այն խոսակցությունները, թե քանի հոգի վերահսկողներ կլինեն սահմանում այդքան էլ լուրջ խոսակցություններ չեն: «Այս ուղղությամբ խնդիրներ կառաջանան»,- ասաց նա: 

Իսկանդարյանի կարծիքով՝ Ադրբեջանի հետագա քայլերն ու անելիքները ուղղակիորեն կապված են նավթի գների հետ:
