Հայ, որը միշտ Հայաստանի կողքին է` իր մտքերով, իր երգերով, իր աղոթքներով եւ հայտարարություններով: Աշխարհահռչակ երգիչ Սերժ Թանկյանին Հայաստանում սիրում են բոլորը եւ բոլորն են ուրրախ, որ երբեւէ աշխարհի երեսին ծնվել է նման հայ, որն, ի դեպ, այսօր նշում է ծննդյան 49-ամյակը:

Թանկյանին շատերը սկսեցին ճանաչել System of a Down ռոք խմբի կազմում, որտեղ նրա հետ միասին ելույթ են ունենում նաեւ մեր մյուս տաղանդավոր հայրենակիցները` Ջոն Դոլմայանը, Տարոն Մալաքյանն ու Շավո Օդաջյանը:

Այսօր երաժիշտը նաեւ անհատական գործունեություն է ծավալում:

Սերժ Թանկյանը բազմիցս հանդես է եկել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը դատապարտող կոչերով:

Երաժիշտի` տարբեր թեմաներին վերաբերող ամնասուր մտքերից մի քանիսը ներկայացնում ենք ձեր ուշադրությանը:

«Երբեմն սիրո մասին լավ երգը կարող է փոխել աշխարհը` ստեղծելով դրական էներգիա եւ դա անել ավելի արդյունավետ, քան ցանկացած քաղաքական ենթատեքստ պարունակող երգը»:

«Սկզբում մենք պայքարում էինք հանուն կրոնի, հետո` հանուն Կոմունիզմի, իսկ այժմ պայքարում ենք հանուն թմրանյութերի եւ ահաբեկչության»:

«Այն, որ մենք ձեւացնում ենք, թե ապրում ենք, դեռ չի նշանակում, որ մենք ողջ ենք»:

«Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին հիշողությունները դեռ վաղ տարիքից բացեցին իմ աչքերը քաղաքական ցինիզմի դեմ»:

«Որպես արտիստ` դու երբեք չես ցանկանում նորից ու նորից նույն երգը գրես: Դու միշտ փորձում ես գտնել տարբեր ուղիներ»:

«Ատում եմ անարդարությունն ու չեմ կարող լռել դրա դեմ: Բայց երբեւէ չեմ ցանկանում ներառված լինել քաղաքականության մեջ»:

«Կարծում եմ` երաժշտությունը մեդիում է, որը ոգեշնչում է երաժշտին, որն էլ իր հերթին իր երգի միջոցով ոգեշնչում է ունկնդրին»:

«Ես գրում եմ երաժշտություն, երբ ազատ եմ լինում` նկատի չունենալով որեւէ նախագիծ իմ մտքում»:

«Ես միշտ փորձել եմ լսել աշխարհի տարբեր մշակույթներ ներկաւացնող երաժշտություն»:

«Կարծում եմ` մի օր ես գիրք կգրեմ: Ես սիրում եմ ստեղծագործել: Շատերն են ինձ հարցնում` արդյոք կցանկանայի հայտնվել քաղաքական դաշտում: Բայց իմ կարծիքով` ճշմարտությունն ավելի ցայտուն կարելի է արտահայտել արվեստի միջոցով»:
