Ըստ նոր հետազոտության՝ կանայք ավելի հաճախ են մղձավանջներ ունենում, քան տղամարդիկ: Ամենահաճախակի երազները, որ կանայք ունենում են դա իրենց զուգընկերոջ դավաճանությունն է:

Ատամի ընկնելը, հետապնդվելը կամ սարդ տեսնելը երեք հաջորդ ամենատարածված երազներն են կանանց մոտ:

Տղամարդիկ իրենց հերթին ամենաշատը երազներ են տեսնում թռչելու, գեղեցիկ անծանոթուհու հանդիպելու կամ գումար գտնելու մասին:

Այս ուսումնասիրությունն անց է կացվել ԱՄՆ-ում 2000 մասնակիցների հետ:

Հետազոտությունը նաև պարզել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ում ամենատարածված երազները բարձր տեղից ընկնելն է, և ինչ-որ մեկի հետ արգելված սեքսով զբաղվելը:

Կային նաև այլ տարածված երազներ, ինչպես օրինակ հետապնդվելը (51%-ը), կրկին դպրոց գնալը (38%-ը), կամ ինչ-որ կարևոր միջոցառման կամ թեստի անպատրաստ լինելը (34 %-ը):

Այնուամենայնիվ, երբ երազները բաժանվեցին ըստ սեռերի, պարզվեց, որ այս մղձավանջներն ավելի տարածված էին կանանց մոտ:

Տղամարդիկ ասում են, որ նրանք ավելի հաճախ ուրախ և հաճելի երազներ են տեսնում:

Հոգեվերլուծաբանները երկար տարիներ ուսումնասիրել են սա և փորձել են գտնել սեռերով պայմանավորված երազների պատճառը:

«Մղձավանջները գալիս են մտահոգություններից,» - բացատրում է Նյու Յորքյան հոգեվերլուծաբան Էն Քատլերը :

Իսկ բժիշկ Ջեննի Փարքերը, այդ մտքի հետ համաձայնվելով, ասում է, որ կանայք ավելի շատ են կենտրոնանում իրենց մտահոգությունների վրա և ավելի լավ են հիշում այն երազները, որոնք կապված են հենց իրենց մտահոգությունների և անհանգստությունների հետ:

«Եթե կանանց հարցնում են, թե որն է եղել նրանց ամենահիշվող և ամենաէական երազը, որ երբևէ ունեցել են, նրանք շատ ավելի հավանական է, որ մղձավանջներ կհիշեն, քան տղամարդիկ,» - ասում է բժիշկ Փարքերը:

«Կանանց ներկայացրած մղձավանջները էմոցիոնալ առումով ավելի լարված էին, քան տղամարդկանցը:»

Սակայն ուսումնասիրւոթյունը նաև պնդում է, որ կանայք ավելի լավ են հիշում իրենց երազները:

Կանանց մեկ քառորդը (24%-ը) հիշում են գրեթե իրենց բոլոր երազները, մինչ տղամարդկանց միայն 14%-ն էր հիշում իրենց երազները:
