Բժիշկները առանձնացրել են 8 հիմնական ախտանիշները, որոնք կարող են վկայել քաղցկեղի մասին։
1. Արնահոսություն ուղիղ աղիքից. Նման արնահոսության պատճառները տարբեր կարող են լինել, սկսած աղեստամոքսային տրակտի բորբոքումից մինչև քաղցկեղը
2. Անեմեյա. Բնութագրվում է հեմոգլոբինի կոնցենտրացիայի նվազեցմամբ։ Այն կարող է զարգանալ ինքնուրույն կամ լինել քաղցկեղի հետևանք։ Եթե մաշկը դարձել է գունատ, առաջացել է հոգնածություն և քնկոտություն, խորհուրդ է տրվում դիմել բժիշկի
3. Գոյացություններ կաթնագեղձերում. Նման գոյացություններ շոշափելու դեպքում անհրաժեշտ է անմիջապես դիմել բժիշկի, քանի որ դրանք կարող են չարորակ ուռոցքներ լինեն։
4. Արյուն արտաթորանքի մեջ որպես առաջին կետի հետևանք
5. Արյուն մեզի մեջ. Մեզի մեջ արյունը վատ ախտանիշ է, որի դեպքում պետք է արագ հետազոտվել։ Դա կարող է լինել ինչպես բորբոքման, այնպես էլ քաղցկեղի հետևանք։
6. Հազ արյունով. Կրկին անհրաժեշտ է դիմել բժիշկի
7. Արնահոսություն մենոպաուզայից հետո. Մենոպաուզայից հետո կանացի սեռական օրգաններից արնահոսությունը կարող է վկայել քաղցկեղային ուռուցքի մասին
8. Դժվարություններ սնունդը կուլ տալիս. Նման ախտանիշի դեպքում անհրաժեշտ է անցնել բժշկական հետազոտություն։
