Սաստիկ հրդեհը երկրորդն օրն Է, ինչ մոլեգնում Է Կալիֆոռնիայի նահանգի Լեյքի օկրուգում: Օգոստոսի 13-ի երեկոյան բռնկելով համեմատաբար ոչ մեծ տարածքում՝ հաջորդ օրն այն ընդգրկել Է արդեն շուրջ 800 հեկտար անտառներ. դրան նպաստել Է հանկարծ բարձրացած ուժգին քամին: Կրակը հասել Է բնակավայրերից մեկը եւ այժմ ոչնչացնում Է տեղի բնակիչների տները եւ ո ւնեցվածքը:
Ինչպես հայտնել Է Press Democrat պորտալը, երեկոյան ժամը հինգի (Երեւանի ժամանակով օգոստոսի 15-ի 02:00-ի) կողմերը Լոուեր Լեյք քաղաքում այրվել են մի քանի գործարար կենտրոններ, փոստի բաժանմունքը, ավտոխանութը, թաղման բյուրոներ եւ ռեստորաններ:
Կրակի դեմ պայքարելու են նետվել Հյուսիսային Կալիֆոռնիայի հրշեջ ուժերը՝ շուրջ 800 մարդ: Բացի դրանից, KCRA հեռուստաալիքի տվյալներով՝ հրդեհի մարմանը մասնակցում են չորս ուղղաթիռներ: Միաժամանակ իշխանությունները տարահանում են տեղի բնակիչներին. սպասվում Է, որ իրենց տները ստիպված կլինեն լքել մոտավորապես երեք հազար մարդիկ:
