Իտալիայի պետական պարտքի չափը 2016 թվականի հունիսին հասել Է պատմական առավելագույնին՝ գերազանցելով 2,248 տրլն եվրոն: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է«Արմենպրես»-ը, օգոստոսի 12-ին հայտնել Է երկրի Կենտրոնական բանկը:
Նախորդ բացասական ռեկորդը գրանցվել Էր ընթացիկ տարվա մայիսին, երբ պետական պարտքը կազմել Էր 2,228 տրլն եվրո: Banca d՚Italia-ի տեղեկագրի համաձայն՝ այս տարվա առաջին վեց ամսվա ընթացքում պարտային բեռն ավելացել Է 77,2 մլրդ եվրոյով:
Ապրիլին Եվրամիության վիճակագրական գործակալությունը հայտնել Էր, որ 2015 թվականի վերջին Իտալիայի պարտքը կազմել Է երկրի ՀՆԱ-ի 132,7 տոկոսը: Մեկ տարի առաջ Իտալիայի Էկոնոմիկայի եւ ֆինանսների նախարար Պիեռ Կառլո Պադոանը հավաստիացրել Էր, որ Իտալիայի պետական 2015 թվականին կկազմի ՀՆԱ-ի 132,5 տոկոսը: Նրա կանխատեսմամբ՝ 2016 թվականին սպասվում Էր այդ ցուցանիշի նվազում մինչեւ ՀՆԱ-ի 130,9 տոկոսը, իսկ 2018 թվականին՝ մինչեւ 123,4 տոկոսը, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
