ՄԱԿ-ը պահանջել Է անհապաղ դադար ապահովել Հալեպի շրջանի մարտական գործողություններում՝ հումանիար գործողության իրականացման համար, որը կներառի քաղաքի Էլեկտրամատակարարման եւ ջրմուղի վնասված համակարգերի նորոգումը: Ինչպես օգոստոսի 8-ին հայտնել են Սիրիայում ՄԱԿ-ի հումանիտար համակարգող Յակուբ Հելուն եւ սիրիական ճգնաժամի տարածաշրջանային համակարգող Քեւին Քենեդին, Հալեպում առանց լույսի եւ ջրի Է մնացել ավելի քան 2 միլիոն մարդ:
«ՄԱԿ-ը Հալեպի մարտերում հումանիտար դադարի անհապապաղ կոչ Է անում, որը թույլ կտա կատարել Էլեկտրամատակարարման եւ ջրմուղի համակարգերի նորոգում, ինչպես նաեւ մարդասիրական օգնություն ցույց տալ կարիքավորներին»,- ասված Է Հելուի եւ Քենեդիի համատեղ գրավոր հայտարարության մեջ: Նրանց խոսքով՝ Համաշխարհային կազմակերպությանը շաբաթական 48-ժամյա դադարներ են անհրաժեշտ մարտերում, որոնք նաեւ թույլ կտան քաղաքում համալրել պարենի եւ դեղորայքի սպառվող պաշարները, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
