1939 թվականին Պերուում գտնվող փոքր գյուղերից մեկում կատարվել է բժշկական տեսանկյունից իսկական հրաշք։
Լինա Մեդինան 6 տարեկանում սկսել է բողոքել ծնողներին որովայնի շրջանում ունեցած ցավերից, որից հետո աղջկան տարել են հիվանդանոց հետազոտության։ Սկզբում բժիշկները ենթադրել են, որ Լինայի մոտ ուռոցք է, սակայն ամեն ինչ իրականում շատ ավելի անսպասելի էր։ Պարզվել է, որ Լինան հղիության 7-րդ ամսում էր։
Լինայի մոտ կատարվել էր ժամանակից շուտ սեռական հասունացում, ինչը կապված է նրա հետ, որ պուբերտատային փուլը երեխայի մոտ սկսում է ավելի վաղ, քան նորմալ դեպքերում։ Սեռական հասունացումը, որը սկսում է աղջիկների մոտ մինչև 8 տարեկանը, համարվում է ժամանակից շուտ։ Այսպիսով, Լինայի դեպքը շատ հազվադեպ էր։ Բժիշկները եզրակացրեցին, որ աղջիկը ամբողջությամբ զարգացել էր 3 տարեկան հասակում։
1939 թվականի մայիսի 14-ին Լինան կեսարյան հատմամբ ծննդաբերեց առողջ տղայի։ Մինչև 10 տարեկանը երեխան համարում էր, որ Լինան իր քույրն է և միայն հետո իմացավ, որ իրականում իր մայրն է։
Հետաքրքիր է այն, որ այդպես էլ գաղտնիք մնաց, թե ինչու չբացահայտվեց երեխայի հայրը և ինչու նրան չենթարկեցին պատասխանատվության։ Հայտնի է միայն, որ 1972 թվականին Լինան ամուսնացավ և ունեցավ երկրորդ երեխան։
Առայսօր Լինայի դեպքը համարվում է բժշկական հրաշք և ուսուցանվում է աշխարհի տարբեր ուսումնական հաստատություններում։
