 Ռուսաստանցիները հետեւում են Թուրքիայի իրադրությանը, ընդ որում նրանք չեն վստահում եւ դատապարտում են Անկարայի իշխանություններին: Այդ մասին օգոստոսի 8-ին հաղորդել է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով Հասարակական կարծիքի ուսումնասիրման համառուսաստանյան կենտրոնի անցկացրած հարցման արդյունքները:

Հետազոտության տվյալներով՝ վերջերս Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցած իրադարձությունները հետաքրքրել է հարցվածների 60 տոկոսին, միեւնույն ժամանակ նորություններին ուշադիր հետեւել է նրանց միայն 16 տոկոսը: Ռուսաստանցիների ավելի քան մեկ երրորդը (39 տոկոս) հայտարարել են, որ իրենց չեն հետաքրքրում Թուրքիայում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձությունները:

Թուրքիայի իշխանություններին բացասաբար է վերաբերվում հարցման մասնակիցների կեսը. նրանց չի վստահում 24 տոկոսը, նրանցից հիասթափված է 14 տոկոսը, եւս 12 տոկոսը դատապարտում է նրանց: 32 տոկոսը հայտարարել է, որ անտարբեր է Անկարայի կառավարության նկատմամբ, իսկ զորակցություն է հայտնել միայն յուրաքանչյուր տասներորդը:

Ռուսաստանցիների 19 տոկոսն այն կարծիքին է, որ Թուրքիայում հեղաշրջման փորձը կատարել են զինվորականները, 17 տոկոսը գտնում է, որ դրա ետեւում կանգնած են արեւմտյան հատուկ ծառայությունները, 12 տոկոսի համոզմամբ՝ դա արել են հենց երկրի իշխանությունները, եւս նույնքան մարդ խռովության համար մեղադրում է իսլամիստ արմատականներին: Մնացածները (36 տոկոսը) դժվարացել է նշել հեղաշրջման ենթադրյալ կազմակերպիչներին:

Հարցվածների երկու երրորդը (67 տոկոսը) կարծիք է հայտնել, որ Ռուսաստանը պետք է չեզոք դիրք բռնի, Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին աջակցելու պատրաստակամություն է հայտնել 14 տոկոսը, ընդդիմությանը համակրում է 3 տոկոսը, եւս 16 տոկոսը դժվարացել է պատասխանել:

Հարցման մասնակիցների երրորդ մասը (36 տոկոսը) հայտարարել է, որ հարկավոր է հրաժարվել պահանջների մի մասից Անկարայի հետ հարաբերությունները կարգավորելու համար, 39 տոկոսը, ընդհակառակը, առաջարկել է ուժեղացնել ճնշումը Թուրքիայի իշխանությունների վրա՝ Մոսկվայի բոլոր պահանջների կատարման նպատակով: Յուրաքանչյուր չորրորդը (25 տոկոսը) խոտովանել է, թե չգիտի՝ ինչպես վարվել տվյալ իրավիճակում:

Օգոստոսի 7-ին Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանը Ռուսաստան  այցի նախօրեին, որը պետք է կայանա օգոստոսի 9-ին, հայտարարել է, թե Ռուսաստանի իր պաշտոնակից Վլադիմիր Պուտինի հետ բանակցությունները «նոր էջ կբացեն երկկողմ հարաբերություններում»:
