«Վրաստանի ձգտման ինտենսիվությունը ՆԱՏՕ և Արմուտք նվազել է». Բրայզա

ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբում ամերիկացի նախկին համանախագահ, ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի Հարավային Կովկասի հարցերով նախկին օգնական, Ադրբեջանում ԱՄՆ նախկին դեսպան Մեթյու Բրայզա կարծում է, որ Վրաստանի ձգտման ինտենսիվությունը դեպի ՆԱՏՕ և Արմուտք նվազել է: Այս մասին Բրայզան հայտարարել է «Ամերիկայի ձայնի» վրացական ծառայության հետ զրույցում:
«Ռազմավարական տեսակետից Վրաստանը պահպանել է եվրաատլանտյան կուրսը: Մենք լսել ենք հայտարարություններ քաղաքական սպեկտրում, այդ թվում՝ խորհրդարանում և «Վրացական երազանքի» կառավարությունում, որ Վրաստանի տեղն Արևմուտքում է և տրանսատլանտյան հասարակությունում:
Պարբերաբար մենք լսում ենք կառավարության ներկայացուցիչներից, որ ոմանք դիտարկում են երկրի ուղեծրի փոփոխության հնարավորությունը, հաճախ այդ հայտարարությունները ուղեկցվում են փոփոխություններով, ինչը լավ է: Սակայն հարկ է նշել, որ մինչ օգոստոսյան պատերազմը ոչ մի պատասխանատու քաղաքական գործիչ չէր ասի, թե Վրաստանը պետք է ավելի շատ մտածի Ռուսաստանի, քան Արևմուտքի հետ հարաբերությունների մասին»,- հայտարարել է Բրայզան:
Բրայզան կարծում է, որ Վրաստանի ապագայի համար վատագույնը կլինի, եթե երկիրը հրաժարվի եվրոպական ապագայից:
«Վրաստանն արևմտյան երկիր է, Վրաստանը Եվրոպա է: Նայեք նրա աշխարհագրական դիրքին, պատմությանն ու մշակույթին, դա եվրոպական երկիր է: Հուսով եմ՝ այդ պատմության շարունակությունը չի դառնա այն, որ Վրաստանը կհրաժարվի այդ եվրոպական պատմությունից: Այսօր դժվար է կանխատեսել, թե երբ Վրաստանը կդառնա ՆԱՏՕ-ի կամ ԵՄ անդամ, սակայն ես չեմ կասկածում, որ չնայած անդամակցության բացակայությանը, Վրաստանի կապերը երկու կազմակերպության հետ կլինեն ավելի ամուր»,- հայտարարել է Բրայզան:
